Hi everyone,
Not sure when I'll be popping in again, have a fairly frantic day today doing lots of stuff as I'm going for an eye op tomorrow, only a cataract but the prognosis because of my extreme short sight is guarded so I'm a bit worried!
Hope all is well, have popped some blueberry muffins into the cake tin.....
Hugs to all xxx

Hi Moomy,
I had a cataract operation on my left eye (-9 dioptres) on 14th December. Had my eye test last week and I now have better than 20/20 vision. My right eye was done back in October following an operation for retinal detachment which left my eye at - 13 dioptres and that eye is also better than 20/20 now.
It is a bit uncomfortable but I'm sure you will be fine.
Best wishes,
Gragon xx
Well, I'm home! Eye patch (no parrot on shoulder!) in place so I don't yet know how vision is till tomorrow.....it was done by the consultant boss himself....
Apparently the intra optic lens was so strong it was a special order! I will have to wait now till all is healed before the new contact lens can be prescribed, that's needed due to the increased curve of my cornea.

Welcome to the 24/7 lovely restful room Gragon, by the way, sorry I didn't welcome you before!
Yes, my sight is not good, it seems it's in between two extremes; can't be corrected by glasses but not quite bad enough for a corneal graft! So contact lenses it is, but I'm so used to them as I've been wearing them variously for over 50 years now! It's just a bit frustrating that I will have to wait for the eye to heal fully first! However sight even one day on, is already a bit better than without the lens (which I had to do for a month before they did an accurate measurement!) beforehand.
Haven't been cooking, as I've been told to rest, but there is a lovely lasagne in the fridge ready to be heated through, courtesy of daughter! (It's a wonderful place, the imagination, nobody can ever fear 'eating' in here as no weight ever gets piled on!!!) oh, and there's a New York cheesecake too.....(courtesy of Waitrose!)
I see the room fairies have kept the place looking great....woodburning stove is all topped up, it's chilly out there!

Morning, all,
I've a day off (courtesy of my cataract op) so have ensured the faeries are kept up to scratch and there is fresh coffee on offer, plus toasted tea cakes for a change!
The cushions on the sofas are all plumped up, fire burning bright in the wood burner, the curtains open, revealing the garden looking ready for spring (hope it's not a late one this year) but the snowdrops are just beginning to open, and the camellias are in bloom already (imagination is wonderful!)
Make yourselves at home, lots of books to choose from......
Hugs to all who pop in xxx

Morning all,
Just moving from the bed to a sofa and fleece to greet the daylight, brought some tea and coffee and toast with a few croissants if you prefer, radio playing softly... The garden is looking lovely Moomy, thanks for the books, hugs to all
