Hello everyone,

the title says it all, this is a thread for everyone at any and all hours of day and night, to post, help, laugh, cry and anything in between. There will be no nasty posts, everyone who joins in will be gentle, considerate and kind to everyone else. Hugs to all......xxx

  • It's exactly five years ago today that daughter first heard the word 'REMISSION' in a taxi in Paris, she had flown back for her PET scan after the new drug, Brentuximab, obtained for her on a compassionate basis, was the very first treatment to work in 7 years. Her consultant phoned her the following day, when she was rejoining the tour she was on.

She then went through a donor stem cell transplant to support this remission, which was so tough, but she is getting well at last.

So happy to be with her to celebrate!

Fantastic!  Enjoy your holiday, both of you!

  • It's still sunny and hot here, (so sorry if you're sitting in the UK with wind, cool, rain etc....) but I'm not getting an enormous tan as I've been too busy enjoying getting about!

Been to Hollywood and 'done' the movie star thingy, (bought hubs a couple of souvenirs) popped a hand on Marylin Munroe's handprint, (as you do!) been to a film/concert version of Star Trek at the Hollywood Bowl and last night an improvisation theatre group which had us all in stitches!

Today off to stay over at my nephew's and niece's (in law) home in Hollywood, where I will meet another nephew too, as he is staying with them, and then back here to Woodland Hills tomorrow. I suspect daughter is going to want another holiday after all this! I think I will too.....

    Hugs to you all xxx

Hi Everyone, the idea of sinking into those lovely soft sofa cushions is especially appealing to me. You may ask why, well I am 4 weeks post op from my radical nephrourectomy, I had open surgery and the wound is healing well, but, my main pain is the in-dwelling catheter I have had to come home with, the discomfort is at times almost unbearable, so sitting on a nice soft cushion is heaven right now, I have to wait 3 more weeks for the cystogram to say whether my bladder has completely healed or not and that will decide when this huge piece  of rubber can be removed.  It's  one of the largest they fit and I'm 73 no padding to cushion it. LOL I had better stop moaning, at least I have been able to have the op and am recovering well, got to have my final scans etc, meanwhile I will join you folks for a fairy cake and a cuppa, on that lovely sofa, night folks love to you all and good wishes for all your recoveries,

    Jean.x

  • Hello Jean,

Welcome to this lovely room where all can feel comfy and well nourished. Hope the sofa with its soft cushions has helped you.

For me, it's good to be back home after an amazing holiday with our daughter, who, in spite of her slow recovery after her donor bone marrow transplant, began her work at trying to get fitter. I was inspired to begin the same, so will download her suggested 'app' and begin very soon, when the jet lag eases!

have put some more Tay and Logan berries in the fridge with a pot of cream, there's ice cream in the freezer too, so please do help yourselves.

  • My, it's gone quiet in here, I expected to find a few folk gently snoozing but the faeries are alone.

The room is still looked after though, freshly picked flowers from the beautiful garden, all cushions on the comfy chairs and sofas plumped up, there's even a BBQ ready to light just outside too, in case anyone feels like having a go, and there are foods to cook ready in the fridge together with an amazing salad that the faeries have put together.

Soft fruit a-plenty too, and I spy a meringue base and cream to make either Eton mess or something a bit posher!

I'm not eating meat at the moment so I'll pass on the beef burger, but I'll have a veggie burger if you don't mind cooking one.

Sorry I haven't been around much. I've  been getting my apartment ready to go on the agency books as a holiday let again now the work on it is finally finished.

Also last week my son daughter in law and two boys were here for a week. Noisy and chaotic but lovely to see them and to get all three grandchildren together.

  • Oooh, Lynda,

That sounds amazing, you really have been busy! Are you going 'Airbnb'?

If Diane is finished the BBQ-ing I'll happily cook a veggie burger or two for you....I think the coals are still ok....
