We need to repaint our house. We moved in about 9 years ago and had someone in to paint all walls white, and gloss a neutral colour. Hubby has done some bits over the years but really it all needs doing again. Probably get it done when I have tinished treatment and I can cope better with it.

Evening all by the way, the kettle has just boiled if anyone wants a hot drink before bed.

  • Lynda that bathroom looks really lovely, I hope you manage to get a long luxurious, restful bath before you go away on that really well deserved holiday!

Christine, I'm beginning to wonder about Lynda's arms being elongated doing all that reaching to paint....dont know if anyone is old enough to remember this one, I remember an advert at the films, of a 'Kaiora' long arm reaching for that squash drink?

Mark, I keep looking round our place and thinking we need to tackle some of the redecorating but reluctant to start otherwise all the house will heed it's!

Hope everyone is ok? Been a busy day, bit cooler, hope that sun keeps going for family wedding this coming weekend....

    hugs to you all xxx

Luxurious baths! - an area of expertese of mine, since I got ill... Seriously, never bathed before, only showered, and, well, tonight, and the last two nights, I've bathed, and you don't want to know the insanely expensive range of Lush products plus extra coconut oil and things, just thrown in the baths! - Positively, a few months now, post treatment, and my skin is better than its ever been all my life! - Nice to enjoy the smells more too, of the nicely scented stuff, since I quit smoking, way back now in Febuary.....  Tonights scents were frankenscence, rosemary, jasmine, coconut, and I think sandlewood, and probably some stuff I can't prounouce let alone spell!

    Gillian

     - only 9 years! - I had this place painted (by my Dad and his mate as it happens), when I moved in.... - last centuary!; 10th December 1999! - its more than a little overdue, - heck, even the bathroom which is refitted from when I moved in, now needs entirely replacing....

Actually, those two thoughts alone make my moving house ever more likely; I can't get a really full-length bath into my tiny bathroom!; well I'm nearly 6 ft, and I just can't lay out full stretch!- I did somewhat terrify myself, oo, a few months back now, looking in a very upmarket bath store... Some truely amazing baths... - the price tags all seemed one digit longer than you'd expect though! oh dear, best save up I guess!

Quiet evening here now, almost over, I must try get some sleep, as my special visitor is over tomorrow, flying in from Sweden (not seen her since I was diagnosed) - to spare her (and I) the shortfalls of this decrepid house, we're booked into probably the most expensive hotel in Cambridge, from tomorrow until Sunday night, before she flys back home. - if all goes to plan, though, I'll be flying off to Sweden, for Christmas and the new year, a trip that would have taken place a few months ago, were it not for the radiotherapy getting in the way of things... - And Karrin and I are off to the spa all day Friday! - So hoping that'll start sorting out my back problems as I'm virtually convinced now they're all just muscular rather than anything more medical...

So I guess I shoudl try for once for an early night, before 3 AM anyhow, -

Just about to make some camomile tea if anyone wants any?; I've also got jamaican peppermint,  honey and ginger, and I think fennel easily to hand, plus jasmine, and probably green as well as some blended Indian tea, for those who do caffine  all-night... (as I used too)...

Hope everyone is doing OK, if not already more sensibly than I, tucked up warmly in bed...

Happy birthday Carol, hope you are having a nice day xx

  • Oh Gillian, time for an afternoon nap very soon! Me too, was up at 6, had an appointment at 8 and needed to take my Alendronate this morning, so shower and dress while giving it half an hour to stop me getting problems, then morning coffee and brekkers at last!

I damaged my hand on Saturday, blood everywhere, have tried to cope but decided as I had a flu and shingles jab this morning, I'd ask a nurse to check out the gash, she was lovely and I came home with advice to rest, elevate, new dressings for the wedding, and the dressing she put on is smaller and neater than mine, and can stay on for several days, too, as its waterproof!

So as daughter too, is doing better, and scabs from her shingles have fallen off, we really are set for Saturday's wedding!

Coffee and cheese scones for anyone who wishes, help yourselves .....oh, and a big choccy  cake for our Birthday Girl

    hugs xxx

Afternoon all; just about to make yet more caffinated tea, if anyone needs some! - I did like maybe three or even four nights on a row, sleeping! - broke the patturn las night of course, and didn't sleep more than maybe two hours - I just about recall hearing the school kids coming up the road, as I fell asleep! - But, have been dashing about being all effecient, just hope I can maintain energy for the rest of the day now; off in a couple hours to meet Karrin at the hotel for our extended long weekend together... - final five minute sit down with a cup of tea, then I must shower, pack the final bits and must remember to stick drugs in my bag!; never needed medication really before this whole cancer thing, and now I've got all the weird and wonderful endocrine stuff too; ahh, must get  my emergency injectible hydrocortisone out of the fridge too, nearly forgot that! well, hopefully I'll not be needing it of course...  Hope everone else is OK, I'll have to catch up on MOnday when I return to in front of the computer!
