    Good Morning lovely people,

Home from the beautiful island of Corsica, had an amazing time great family holiday.

    Sounds like everyone has been busy;

Lynda you have done an incredible amount of painting!

Have left some Corsican wine in the fridge and some lovely Corsican cheese nibbles on the table they are delicious!

    love to all

    Jakki xxx

  • Oh Lynda, I bet your shoulders ache! Take it easy!

Carol, Pud sounds funny, bless him....will Polly return to the kennel or has hedgepig taken up residence permanently?

Christine, sending you lots more hugs.....

Gillian, if you look up the Bombe on YouTube you might find hubs doing a demo, haha! It was devised to shorten the breaking into Enigma settings. Once settings have been found, that days messages can be read, but just for that network. Hope you are coping well with the chemo now?

Keith, it's been great chatting about WW2, hope you have a few more stories?

Jakki, welcome back, thank you for a nibble, very tasty!

I've left a few scrubbed carrots ( just pulled them up, they are quite small but sweet) with a dip in the fridge, do help yourselves, they go will with Jakki's nibbles

Shoulders ache, back aches, arms ache. Whatever possessed me to buy a house with 8ft high ceilings? Stopped for the day now as a man is here measuring up for wardrobes.

starting the hall tomorrow, but I think I will do low level stuff to give my neck a rest.

    Welcome back Jakki,

    hi everyone else.

    Happy Monday to all.

Hope your neck doesn't ache too much Lynda, I hate painting ceilings for that reason.

Glad you had a nice time with friends Gillian it's  always nice to catch up.

Your posts with Keith have been interesting to read Moomy,we were thinking about going on a trip to Bletchley, but never got there unfortunately.

Pleased you enjoyed your holiday Jakki, hope the washing and ironing doesn't take too long! !!

Hope all your 4 legged friends are ok Carol and you are still enjoying your job.

Lots of love and best wishes to you Christine.  Xxx

Afternoon all. Thanks I am doing really well this week. See what the blood results say.

Glad Jakk you had a good holiday.

Lynda it sounds like you need a long bath to soak your aching limbs.

I looked up bombe and found a picture. Very interesting. There are some very clever people around who come up with amazing ideas.

I have some bara breath I made,  I used a recipe using red wine instead of tea. Hubby says it is yummy. Enjoy

Lynda, you must slow down, you're putting me to shame

Christine the kittens are little buggers, they trip you up,sit on your feet, try & climb up your legs & have found an escape route from the garden onto the drive so tonight we have been building a barricade to try & keep them in & yet again they've been knocking on the back door to pud,i absolutely love my job,i can't believe how lucky i was that day when i called in & ask if they needed a cleaner

Moomy i have been to see about my tetanus & of course it was out of date, receptionist ask why i was checking & when i told her looked at my records & said be back at 3.10 you're booked in with the nurse to get it done, nurse has checked the scratches out & said they look ok but to keep an eye on them, tetanus is now up to date

    Love & hugs to all

As some of you know, I'm no stranger the darker discussions on this forum so it's good to find a part where everyone talks about everything else. So two things:-

    1. today is the 75th anniversary of the hardest day during the Battle of Britain and the RAF are building a mosaic of images. It was advertised on The One Show the other day - take a look at http://www.raf.mod.uk/mosaic/. You can upload photos and they fit them in according to colour. I have uploaded my old Dad's pass and a picture of a great uncle who was shot down in 44
    2. second unrelated thing is that my great grandfather 4 times up, called Richard, came from around Dent in Yorkshire and was the role model for Emily Bronte's Heathcliffe in Wuthering  Heights. Have you read it?

Yes, Ok, I know it's all history stuff but it's safe ground and in sharp contrast to the reality of the patients and carers group meeting at the hospice yesterday.

    Have a great Tuesday.

Love the mosaic, what a fabulous idea! Wuttering Heights yes love it, although there are two many Catherine variations for my comfort.

Well, steroid buzz still here! Managed to sleep until 6 this morning though so got an extra hour in. Seeing consultant tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed that I can reduce dose or come off them.

Carol, so glad you are enjoying your new job, I am looking forward to getting back to work. I have to say though I am beginning to enjoy being off on holiday rather than sick now!

Christine, when are you going away?

    Gillian, how's things?

    love to all

What a fabulous mosaic & idea,my dad was RAF but that was national service & a long time after the war,i love Wuthering Heights & i do think the original film is by far the best,i'd love to say i can also do a pretty good impression of Kate Bush but if i tell the truth it's a bloody racket but i love singing so i don't care

Gosh Jakki i hope you soon start reducing the steroids, nothing worse than not being able to sleep & believe me i know all about that one, will you be back at work for the start of the new term in september

Hope all have a good day & this miserable weather doesn't put a frown on your faces

    xx

    Carol,

am starting back the first day of term, just doing three mornings the first week and gradually upping my hours. Gav and I have discussed me possibly dropping to a four-day week but I am not sure yet whether I want this or not.

i love singing too Carol, we should do a Kate Bush number on karaoke. I like 'running up that hill' bet I could clear us a pub in seconds!

I am on a bit of a healthy eating week as I have put 5lbs on in the last 19 days, I blame the steroids but perhaps cheese, bread, wine, steak, beer and ice cream have a little to do with it.

    love to all
