Hello everyone,
the title says it all, this is a thread for everyone at any and all hours of day and night, to post, help, laugh, cry and anything in between. There will be no nasty posts, everyone who joins in will be gentle, considerate and kind to everyone else. Hugs to all......xxx
Thank you Keith. I know that I am surrounded by love and understanding. I am really lucky. I have friends that I have made through this dreadful experience who I hope will remain with me now so we can move forward together.
You are right it is sad and that is my prevailing feeling at this time and I guess that of most in the same place. My loss has left me with an aching void in my heart and a loneliness that I guess only time will heal. Xx
Where are the tissues, just got back from meeting up with Jacqueline & handing over the toms & am now feeling a bit sad,i had to pack the bags Gillian as they were too busy playing lastnight to do it themselves,my arm is bloodied & bruised as Agostini decided he wasn't going in the box or the cat basket & clung onto my skin for dear life, when we did get them in he tried very hard to get out & cried all the way to our meeting point,i do hope he was less vocal on the second leg of the journey to their new home,Polly wasn't in the least bit bothered by proceedings & completely ignored the pitiful wailing coming from the kitten on my lap while Vince went to borrow a basket from next door, next one will be easier as all we have to do is pick it up & carry it 4 doors along
Hope all are well & have enjoyed todays lovely weather
How are you feeling today Christine,i can't even begin to imagine what it's like when you lose the love of your life, all i can do is send my love & massive hugs to all of you out there that are in that position
Love & hugs to all
xx
Ah, so sad. But at least you know they have gone to a good home, and they are together.
Two coats of paint on the walls of the lounge today. At least one more needed tomorrow, possibly two. Plus I want to try and get the gloss done. The plan is to have the room finished apart from the ceiling by the end of Monday. Then three days to get as far as I can on the hall.
Friday I'm off to Southport for the weekend with my Way up friends, going to the flower show, plus shopping and Sunday lunch.
Christine, how are you today, hope you haven't caught the sickness bug.
I have put some Magnums in the freezer....espresso, raspberry and almond. I went shopping on my way home and couldn't resist them. Help yourself.
Mmm magnums. Yummy thanks
Evening all
Everyone is busy, sorry to those who are sad and need a hug. I cannot begin to understand but I can send a hug
Another quiet day here, hubby has been in the garden all day. I have been in and out, I found it quite chilly. I now have the fire lit and curled up reading about all your doings.
Helloto you all,
biggest of hugs to everyone who feels they might benefit from them......
Carol, I hope your tetanus is up to date, as kitten scratches can infect especially as they've been outside a lot? Hope you heal quickly..... Poor wee things, they can really tell you exactly how they feel.
Gillian, it is suddenly much cooler here too, I wore a cardi at BP when outside, hope the warmth returns but without the humidity.
Christine, i really hope they have not been generous with that sicky bug? You need to stay wel for that holiday!
Lynda, I thought you said youd take it easy??? Please don't overdo all that painting!
it was busy today, I did 3 complete demos, hubs did a further 3 half ones with me the other half, I tend to show people the inside of the Bombe machine and tell the history, he tends to explain the code breaking part, but I do that too if he doesn't feel up to it, which I did today.
Keith, good to see you posting....
Daughter has the afternoon Prom tomorrow, says rehearsals are fine, and she will drive up here afterwards....uh-oh, I feel house cleaning is needed ready for her eagle eye, especially as she wanted us to sort out the stuff that she helped bring down from the loft! ( most of it went to the tip!)
hugs to you all xxx

Hello
Just home from a lovely evening & meal with my brother, was nice to spend time with him & know that he's ok after his break up
I think my tetanus is up to date,i'll check on monday, had a txt from Jacqueline which made me a bit tearful, silly i know, they've settled in,had a nose round,a sleep & were stuffing their little faces when she txt me,we've just been out to feed the rest of them & found a lodger in the kennel, there was a hedgehog fast asleep at the side of the washing up bowl they sleep in,wonder how long that arrangement has been going on
Gosh Lynda you are such a busy lady, please make sure you're not doing too much,i hate decorating
Moomy,we shall soon be coming to see you, can't wait to see you in action
It's been lovely here today, hopefully it will be again tomorrow
Well my lovely friends i'm away to my bed, will soon be time to get up again for work
Love & hugs to all

Hi Keith, it's a Bombe rebuild, to the design most commonly used at BP and out stations, commissioned in 2007, and working well. the Polish Bomba was, we think, a small hand cranked machine, we only have a line drawing of it. There's a mock up of a Y station at the end of B block. I have great respect for the operators who received morse messages! They did a grand job....
Carol, can't wait to meet you! Glad that kittens have settled and scoffing well, they soon adapt! But do check about your tetanus.....fancy finding a comfy hedgepig in the kennel!
Hugs xxx

Hi moomy,
I'm fascinated with your connection to BP. How did it start and what do you currently do and in which hut? My BP connection is only slight but I did know an ex Wren who worked there and until recently gave talks and demonstrated the Enigma machine. I mainly know about the Polish Bombas from her and research but I also briefly knew an ex BP man and later GCHQ when we were in hospital together!
Y service is also fascinating as it involved so many ordinary people listening in their own front rooms and later from a huge variety of outposts. There was one locally here.
My direct connection to those days is with Fighter Command through Bentley Priory and later Bush House. My Father's Air Ministry Pass is dated May 1940.
This is a huge relief from always thinking cancer. Thank you.
Keith
Hi everyone. I am ok not sick yet thank goodness. All are well now.
You are so right Keith hearing about other things like kittens and house moves and jobs is so much better than hearing about the big C all the time. On this forum you are all so positive and interesting Even those going through the mill xxxx
I am struggling to post lately, think I might be on overload so forgive me if you dont hear too much from me. I am fine trying to build up friendships and have outings.
Love you all xxx
