Good afternoon all
Hope everybody has dried out after the storm & are having a good weekend,so pleased you're having a good holiday Gillian, wonder how Lynda's getting on,we've been to a food fayre at one of the schools near us,lots of yummy things to try & samples to bring home,my sort of a day out
My legal representative (a solicitor lives next door) is wording my resignation for me & has said i can put him down for a reference (& i can put LLB(hons) after his name) been talking to the lady we get our fruit & veg off & she may have some work for me 2 days a week in a few weeks on her market stall, off to get signed on for job seekers monday & get my name down with one of the local taxi firms as a personal assistant on the school run
Well yet again it took Polly less than 2 minutes to get from her hidey hole to her food today so she must be in that smelly old compost heap or the rubbish at the back of the shed

Hi, everyone, been recovering after a VERY full dy yesterday, BP followed by a brilliant concert and reception afterwards, then a late home coming by daughter who played her concerto brilliantly.
A very late morning, then they had a brunch and I just drove her in to collect her car (of course she went off to do some shopping) then son and partner are over for dinner too. Will be feeding 6. BBQ was planned but we keep getting showers so I think the food will need to be cooked indoors instead! Huh, from hubs bbq-ing it's over to me again!
Enjoy your Sunday, everyone
hugs xxx
Moomy
Afternoon All,
Moomy, that concert sounds amazing, I bet you were a very proud mum! Shame about the BBQ but lovely that your family will all be together, enjoy your evening.
Carol, glad you can go back to work if you choose and happy that you are deciding not to! I think it is really important to enjoy work, we spend too much time there to be miserable. I decided to years ago to give up teaching and become a special needs teaching assistant, the best thing I ever did, I love it!
Gillian, hope you have enjoyed your weekend in the lakes.
I went for a run this morning, it felt good; managed a mile in one go, then a little walk, then another mile. It's a long way off what I could do but I'll get back there in time. I think I have another marathon in me!
Hope everyone else is well.
Love Jakki xxx
Sounds like a fun but busy weekend Moomy, shame you have to cook now & not let hubs do it
Gosh Jakki you put me to shame with all this running,i'm more of a gentle walk person these days
We've just had another lovely day out together & i think this was what finally decided me that i don't need all that crap,i've missed too much time with him indoors over the last 13 years, money may be tight for a while but at least i'll be happy & we'll be spending quality time together & i won't be coming in like a bear with a sore head & too tired to cook a meal
Polly is in the running for mother of the year & big brave pussy cat,we still have no idea where the kittens are but she comes 4 times a day for food & fuss then sneaks off when your back is turned,we were having a few minutes together on our drive this morning when next doors dog jumped the fence into our garden & stuck it's nose through the fence at Polly, did she run away from a big dog,did she hell, she fluffed up her tail, arched her back, grould, hissed & spat at it then smacked it on the nose end & walked away, yayy to polly
Still mighty warm here but at least this year i can enjoy the weather
Hope all are well & having a lovely Sunday
Love & hugs
xx
Thumbs up to Polly Mum of the year. Hope she lets us see those kittens soon.
well dome Jakki you put us all to shame. So happy you feel well enough to run xxx
Moomy you have had a busy time. Congratulations to your talented daughter. It certainly is typical English weather we are just having a very heavy shower. Daughter partner and two kids are off to Menorca in the morning ( I am so happy to have a rest even though I love them to bits). I am lucky to have my good friend Wendy to come and stay for 3 nights so we can have some R and R. Hope the weather is kind.
love be to all xxx
From what i've read Christine the kittens will be 3-4 weeks old when she brings them back as that's when they'll start weaning & she'll bring them to her regular source of food, bet you'll be glad of the peace & quiet for a few days,it will be lovely for you & Wendy to spend a few days together & chill out, hope the weather is kind to you & you manage to sit in the garden with a glass of wine
xx
Christine,
I hope you and your house guest have a lovely few days and that your family enjoy their holiday break.
Sister, it is good to hear how well Polly is doing, with all of the support you are giving her. It sounds to me like you have come to the right decision regarding work, so good on you.
Jakki, brilliant to hear of you getting back to running. Just shows what determination can do for you.
Moomy, sorry your BBQ was rained out. It is disappointing when you are setting yourself up for one, and you end up having to cook it in the oven, Well done your Daughter, and bet you are so proud of her achievements.
Gillian and Lynda, hope you are enjoying your time away, and are chilled out.
We are shattered, as had youngest Grandson's fourth birthday party today for 24 children. Very enjoyable to see how happy he was surrounded by his friends. This is hisfirst party that wasn't just adult family, as he had no friends till he joined nursery last September. Love my little men so much it hurts.
Have a lovely evening friends
love Chris xxxx
Aw Chris, that first birthday with friends is so special, I used to love seeing my boys playing with their mates! I am not allowed to go anymore lol.
Christine, enjoy your peace and quiet and recharge those batteries ready for their return, you will hear all about their adventures. I am guessing a few bottles of wine will be opened when your friend arrives.
Strawberries from the garden on the table, they are much nicer at room temperature! Can the last one in pop them in the fridge if there are any left.
love Jakki xx
Hi Chris
I will miss them but I am pretty tired at the moment and need to focus on something else. It is not really their fault I am just in overdrive at the moment. find it impossible to relax or sit and rest and constantly finding things to do which then leave me exhausted. I know what you mean about loving them so much it hurts. I really have been so lucky as Ryan my first Grandson was born in 1995 and has always been very very close to us. He now lives here as well and finds Grandma a bit overpowering at times but secretly really enjoys the fuss and attention he gets. He is good he does the garden for me. I now have 6 Grandchildren the youngest is 8 months but sadly I do not see her but Jacob 3 and Emilia 15 months are here with me and I see Lola 12 regularly. Grandchildren are Gods gift for getting old they say but they can wear you out!!
We have lovely sunshine again now here. Thanks for the strawberrys delicious xx
Just wandering through on my way to get in my nightie, lovely strawberries Jakki, thank you,i've put some cous cous in the fridge,it has lime juice, coriander, mixed peppers, tomtoes, apple & spring onion in,there's also a bowl with ham, peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onion with a yogurt & mayo dressing, help yourselves, there's plenty
