It was so hot last night, our house normally stays fairly cool but yesterday's temperatures meant it was too warm to sleep! I ended up watching the England Game until 2am. Was great to watch, shame about the result.

Iced lemon for me thanks Moomy, will have it with my lunch, about to tuck in to leftover couscous and chicken from last night. Hopefully better temperatures for sleeping tonight.

    Hugs to all xxx

    Good afternoon

Thanks Moomy,i shall sit by the open door with iced lemon & try to catch a breeze, just moved pots onto lawn so they get the rain & after 6 spots it stopped

Meeting was just going over the same old stuff but i felt more confident that the general manager believes what i'm saying unlike the other manager, have had a very productive morning since i left had a haircut, lunch in my favourit tearoom & put some flyers up round holbeach, now going to look at the jobs they've emailed me & see if there's anything i fancy then tomorrow off to do the same in spalding & go to one of the taxi firms & get my name down as an escort for the school runs

Hope all are well & not suffering too much in this heat

Love & cooling hugs to all

    xx

    Good evening,

Carol, good to hear that today's meeting felt a little more positive. Sounds like you are on a mission to get a new job anyway but at least you feel better about the situation.

How is Polly doing, have you found her?

Feels much cooler tonight should be easier to sleep for everyone hopefully.

Coffee in cafetière, tea brewing in't pot, help yourselves also left some posh oat and raisin biscuits on the table tuck in.

    Love Jakki xx

  • Daughter asked me to go with her to her rehearsal with the orchestra tonight, she felt she wanted someone 'to play to', she looks effortless playing! Said she knows she has less lung function and capability, probably from all the amount of treatment she had. she played the same piece for final recital for her degree, and the contrast for her is quite marked. But her lyrical playing, for the audience, is so pronounced that the odd extra breath really doesn't notice. It's what she has become noted for, a beautiful, lyrical tone and the emotion she puts over in her performances.

So ive been out for quite a few hours...the house is ready for visitors ( her friend is coming to stay to go to the concert) and the wall looks great, there has been an awful lot to do, though as hubs really can't do that much, bless him. So I've been far too busy, back is aching and it's great to lie down!

But coming home late tonight, it's so much cooler, will hopefully all sleep easier tonight, including Polly and her kittens, I hope you know where they all are, Sister? I'm so pleased your meeting went ok, you sound happier which is great to hear, with lots of ideas so you can get weekends free....

    hugs to you all xxx

Good afternoon all,it's flipping hot again today

Just got back from a funeral, well not a funeral as such more a celebration of her life & it was quite eventful,Mum had a funny turn in church, think she got overheated & felt dizzy & faint, she's fine now but gave us quite a scare, was talking to my godson, having a nice chat when he said "aunty Carol, dad's got something to tell you" turns out he has to go for a scan, they told him this morning that they think he has a brain tumour

Polly still has the babies very well hidden but i still think shes behind the shed somewhere as it took her less than a minute to appear when i just fed her,she then demanded lots of fuss & when i looked again she'd vanished, clearly gone to feed those greedy babies

Hope all are well & not suffering too much with the heat, think i might have a nobbly bobbly to cool me down

    xx

Trouble is they have to follow correct procedures or they can be in trouble. Are you going back?

I understand that but it wouldn't have hurt them to phone us,they did after all ring me to tell me i was suspended 2 hours after they told me i could go to work the next day, anyway that's all behind me now no i'm not going back Christine,i've thought it over & talked to Vince & we decided that it will be better for me not to go back,i don't think i'll be given the same trust i had befor & i don't want to be in a working environment where i know my every move will be watched & if i'm honest after i got over the shock of what was happening i've felt better than i have in along time & Vince said i've been much calmer & happier this last week,i'll keep looking for a job & hope that i can find a few more people to iron for to bring a few quid in,we've got a load of stuff i can sell on a carboot & when i get some more knitting done we're going to have a stand at the local craft centre, they look after it for you & once a month give you any money they've taken for you

    xx

Morning everyone. We are still in the Lakes. We are chilling out in the hotel overlooking the jaws of Borrowdale There is mist over the tops,  slowly lifting.  It is amazing how the weather can change from day to day.

Sorry to hear about your employment troubles. Sometimes these kinds of experience make you reassess your position.  Sounds like you have it sorted Sister.

No doubt Polly knows what is best for her kittens.

I hope everyone else is doing well.
