Good afterning all
Now as an honorary with a step i agree with you Jakki,we used to ask the step to help his dad cook tea & wash up on saturdays then we would give him money to either get a treat or leave with me to save for when we had a holiday & if we went out for the day & he left his money at home (teenagers can be very crafty) then wanted something i used to lend him the money & he had to pay me back when we got home & yes i did always ask for it,when i was little my grandparents had a pub & if i polished all the tables & put the beer mats & ashtrays out on saturdays i got sixpence & i too had jobs to do at home to earn pocket money
I've made a massive salad, far too much for 2 so have put it in the fridge,as well as the usual cucumber, lettuce, tomato & spring onion there's also apple, grapes, pear & pineapple in it,i've also made a honey, wholegrain mustard & balsamic vinegar dressing, just needs a good shake befor you put it on
xx
I'm a bit late logging in. But I also used to give mine a set amount each month and if they wanted more thee was a list of jobs they could do. I didn't need to do my own hoovering for years!
your salad sounds nice Carol. I have added some salsa. Avocado, kiwi fruit, tomato, coriander, chilli and lime juice. I'm having roast chicken with mine.
Salsa sound lovely,i may have to make some one night
He's a good lad Jakki to be getting on with the jobs so he can go out,he'll get a bag of chips on the way home as well
xx
Good afternoon all. Well what a miserable day, grey and mizzley.
We just had an outing to the David Mellor factory shop in Hathersage to buy two glasses to replace two that broke. It is always lovely to look round their cook shop.
Talking of teenagers we sort of aquired one a couple of years ago. My sister's son decided he wanted to live in the UK not America so we took him in. He was going to university but needed to live somewhere during the holidays. So he came here which was a shock to our system, not having children. He is lovely but a teenage boy at the time. He is now 21 and on his own two feet.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Hello everybody
well, what a flipping day,4 members of staff short & the world & his wife decided they needed to come out for dinner today,we all left work shattered but we all pulled together & even managed to find time to have a laugh, feet have just stopped aching
Any excuse for a bit of retail therapy Gillian,i like to go & have a look round our retail centre & have a coffee sometimes after work & i love the body shop,if i buy 4 items & use my loyalty card i get 50% off
How nice that you took him in when he needed a holiday home,i hardly see the step now he has his own car
Hope all have had a good day

Feet are up & i have a bar of chocolate & cuppa
At the front of the house we have crows,at the back we have starlings, the blackbirds are trying to make themselves heared but in about an hour the loudest one will be Polly demanding to be fed
