Hi all
Well this past hour has been a bit of a shocker to say the least and I am still shaking but this will probably give the rest of you a good laugh! Although we've been back from hols nearly a week I hadn't completely finished unpacking some of the suitcases so thought I'd get it done. I opened one up, took a couple of things out of it and placed them on the floor but noticed something moving on a bag. Now, I hate insects with a passion and usually have to get hubby to get them out of the house but I'm on my own today so knowing it couldn't just be left and thinking it was a spider, I tentatively picked up the bag and then this disgusting thing ran across the room - it was a bloody big cockroach! Flipping heck, my heart was in my mouth but thinking back now, I must have looked comical as I ended up running around the room shouting and swearing - it was a good thing that the little one has gone back to school as he would have been learning a couple of new words. Panic is now over as I was very brave and managed to get it out of the house but never again will I just throw stuff into the suitcase when packing to come home - I will be searching everything with a fine tooth comb!
I also found out today that one of my Mum's best friends and my half cousin's mum has been put on a syringe driver as she is dying from cancer. She is 82, the same age as my Dad, but it's awful to hear that someone else is having to go through all of that. I never used to hear that word mentioned very often but now...

I'm off out for a walk now and some fresh air as need to calm my nerves!

Sam X
