All of us on here get both good and bad news, i wanted to start a thread for all types of news, for everyone to post their news.....
  • whew, we made the right decision to get going earlier rather than later yesterday, might not have been able to start as the snow sounds as if it was really bad around home! We hit it around Birmingham (toll road was quite bad, a bare 2 lanes open, sometimes not that at times) but coped, the worst was the repeatedly frozen windscreen washers! We ended up following trucks to get the spray to clear the screen at times!

Anyway, got here in about three and a half hours.....Caz isn't feeling too good this cycle, still feeling sick-y in spite of the meds, not that I think she is taking them that often.....needs prompting when she feels this yukky. But she slept on and off, ate well, drank well too, I made her hot chocolate as she seemed cold at one point. She's wondering whether to ask if she can miss the last one of this cycle to feel better for Christmas! we'll see what they say tomorrow......

love and hugs to you all

    Dear helen

Hope you enjoyed your impromptu concert last night.........

Also hope that all goes to plan for Caz today........having chemo is no fun at the best of times but knowing how much suffering it can cause during the Christmas holiday is even worse!!!!

Good luck to her, and also yourself and your long-suffering men-folk

Love and (((hugs))) to you all

  • No chemo today! Apparently very very few, if any, people make it to the end of the second cycle, and although white cells are fine, due to the G-CSF, platelets are rather too low for any treatment this side of the new year. As Caz feels that it isn't doing much anyway, then next appointment will possibly see either donor transplant discussion or the new treatment being discussed. She has more Gemcitabine booked for that day anyway, in case it has helped without her knowing......so we will know more on around January 17th. She is really pleased to know that she did well in even getting to the half dose at the end of the first cycle, let alone this one!

She did list all her side effects, has a bit of hair loss but only a bit, nausea got quite bad this week, and her pins and needles in both arms, as well as a bit on hands, this should improve greatly now that treatment has stopped.

Sooooo, now a build up of proteins and leafy green vegetables to help her platelets, I said she could maybe have more than her normal sole one Brussels Sprout this Christmas, she groaned! lol!

love and hugs to you all

    Dear Helen,

Caz has done extremely well with her treatments, I hold my hat off to her love.

Hope she feels better soon and enjoys Christmas day with her lovely family, I am sure she will, having mum and dad there to take care of her.

Praying for her love and everything is crossed for the coming year for your lovely girl.

Stay warm and safe dear lady, it is bitterly cold again.

    Love and warm ((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))
