Think we eventually got home at her place by about 11pm, what a long long day, AND then we left without her meds....but were promised they would get sent out by taxi tomorrow, well, almost today now.....I cooked dinner when we got in, and we are now getting ready for bed, poor lass even fell asleep when having her chemo flushed through with saline at the end!
They were begging for people to agree to have their chemo tomorrow early...ha! Only one or two did....they simply weren't coping with the new chemo suite, recently opened, in true NHS form, they only partially opened it, without testing things properly first.....and by the time we left, some buzzer lights weren't working!
love and hugs to you all

Grrr and double grrr, after a day like that why oh why couldn't I get much sleep? But I'm so glad Caz seems to be back off in the land of Nod......
Ah well, onward......need to go to her GP surgery to pick up something (daren't let her go into sick people) then hopefully be here for the meds which are supposed to be sent here by taxi, yes, from 12 midday rill 11pm, Pharrnacy still hadn't done her meds to come home with......Grrrr and double grrr!
I think it all comes from merging 3 chemo units into one without adequately staffing it, but that's no excuse for Pharmacy.
love and hugs to you all

The Manager of the new unit was so helpful and concerned, her meds came just before I was leaving to come home, but they weren't liquid, and when he rang to ask if they'd arrived and I told him we'd asked for liquid and explained why, he dropped everything and went off to get it sorted, even so I got home before they arrived, (grrr again for Pharmacy! ) However, in the meantime I had a long chat to Prof's secretary (haven't we all found them worth their weight in gold?) and she will try and get that put on her notes so that any change in doctor will see it!
Caz looks a bit pale but feels ok though a bit tired, this week she has G-CSF injections to ensure her white cells recover fast enough for the complete course. She's now looking forward to her replacement car which she collects tomorrow!
love and hugs to you all

What a nuisance when folks don't listen properly or take any notice of requests??
But I'm pleased to hear that Caz is doing OK - even with the tiredness. Fingers crossed that all goes well for her.........She has everything to gain....
Love and ((((hugs)))) to you all
Dot xxxxxxxxxx
Dot, bless you for answering....... the only problem is that we aren't sure that this is working (node in her neck is still the same size and hardness) .......however, we have to give the second course a chance. You just never know, it might be tackling more in her chest and spleen....
Big (((((((((((hugs)))))))))) for you, you are going through your own tough time, I really appreciate you coming on here! xxxxxxxx

Thank you Helen. I have a terrible memory for names. I watched the show last night and once again saw your lovely Caz.
I hope she is coping well following treatment and that you are managing to keep yourself sane despite being beside yourself with worry.
Love and angel hugs x x x Patricia x x x
Gold Star for Jason Dawes at the Christie, he is the Manager of the new chemo unit (3 wards into 1) and seems totally committed to going the extra mile to make sure things get done.........that's 2 taxi's out to Caz's place with meds, this time with the right one!
She has been busy decorating the Christmas tree this evening....yes, we spent the gap time going and getting a Nordman Fir and today while it was sunny on her garden we packed it into the bucket after I sawed a little off the trunk for keeping it moist, with rocks and compost and carried it in, it got her just a tiny bit of exercise in the sunny-frosty-garden-fresh-air to help her. think she is planning an early night again, beginning to listen to her body now she knows the chemo pattern.
love and goodnight hugs to you all (am shattered!)
