All of us on here get both good and bad news, i wanted to start a thread for all types of news, for everyone to post their news.....
  • No, not me, I used to climb though, when young and Stanage is great fun, not too far off terra firma and a great rock surface, it grips one well, specially if in a chimney!

LOL. I am not so good with chimneys. I tend to shuffle around but go nowhere. Give me a nice hand jamming crack any day. J used to be one of those thuggy 'bloke' climbers who just pulled himself up the steep stuff. He is now learning to appreciate the benefits of good footwork!

Sue - I will tell J about his award. I am sure he will blush beetroot red and smile broadly. :-)
  • I used to really enjoy balance climbing, no good at pulling myself up by sheer strength! But did manage to do some 'very severe' in the Lakes, just balance and exposed stuff, hubs put a stop to all that, and me also betting a touch less mad too!

  • that was supposed to read 'getting' not betting! me finger slipped in the gloom!

I used to live near Wharnecliffe Crags and loved roaming around them thar hills in my teens!!!! Tried a bit of rock 'scrambling' there too!!! And Strines is a lovely area.........especially the pub of that name ........ I learned to drive around there!!! Never fancied doing it on a bike!!!!! But there are plenty that do!!!!!!! Well done to J for being so positive and not letting anything get in his way............

Hi Dot. I wanted to pop in and say hello. I have unfortunately had to direct a couple of people over to Mac recently and they have both said they got a lot of comfort and reassurance here. I knew they would. :-)
