I am so sorry that Caz's friends mum lost her life to this awful disease, at least you were able to be at the funeral to support Caz's friend in her absence, its not easy is it?

Thank you, Mary, we had known the family from when our children ( they had boy then girl as we did, the same ages, almost exactly!)were in primary school, even though inevitably losing touch a little as the children all went different ways, but the girls have been meeting up from time to time, there were a threesome (I went to the funeral with the third lass), and it almost feels as though they have never been far apart! Kathy had been ill for a long time, but was determined to do all she could, for it never to make a difference to what she wanted. If funerals can be good, it was, and she had asked that there be no tears, everyone tried hard to respect that, there were bunches of red roses for all to have one to place on the coffin as a goodbye. That was very poignant and hard to keep the tears back.....
Even though those we have lost, last wishes are that there be no tears, that is so very hard, sounds like her family had a wonderful send off for a very dear lady, god bless them all.
Ha! our lass is now very cross with the long-dead Gilbert and Sullivan! She says she is very fed up with having to play for their operettas! She's on her way to meet up with a pal in Exeter, and then to play yet again! Sounds as though she is still well.......lol!
Helen I am so pleased that you enjoyed your dear girls company, even if it was late, there is nothing like having them home again. Enjoy your chilly, gives me an idea for tomorrows dinner.
