Welcome to Warped.
I wanted to come back in time and explain something as it doesn't make sense otherwise...(though not much of this thread makes sense anyway) I set up this thread as explained below with a lovely dear lady called Sunny Leith. We had a lot of chat on here and the silliness got me and her and lots of others through some hard times. Sunny left the site when there was some criticism of warped and she deleted all her posts when she left. That is why it doesn't make sense to start with as all her posts are missing and it is a bit of a one sided conversation.... Enjoy it all the same...
Hi there,
This is a follow on from the 'dumb things people say' recent thread that is moving here with a health warning!
If you are feeling sensitive please don't read this thread as you may feel offended.... and we need a place to say what we need to say without worrying about offending people so you have been warned!!!!
This is for those of us who cope by being irreverent and silly and able to laugh at all the bad stuff. If you want to get the idea, read the last few pages of dumb things people say, I might see if I can cut and paste a few over to get us going....
In the meantime,
Sunny, you had me laughing my head off this morning with that image of you sitting there in your underwear, chocolate mouth etc!! I think it would have been hilarious if you had answered the door and invited them in.... they certainly would have needed oxygen by the time they got back down the speed they would have run away....!
Magel, how do they find us?? I live up a very steep hill in a very remote area and they made it up the hill to us too..... mind you, they were so out of breath they couldn't speak... almost felt sorry for them!
Can't remember what else we were on about as I can't see the last post anymore but lets continue here with the laughs and anyone new, feel free to join in.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Little My x
Sue, our camp obenruferfuhrers drank all the booze, but I am happy to celebrate with a coffee and my liver will breathe a sigh of relief (plus I need to get it in tip top condition for its photo shoot next week)
what would we do without you? I would have been living my life deluded that dumb things was years old and it wasn't!! Phew, glad thats sorted out. Keep up posted....
Stinker- yes, they could come and see me but its complicated.. I have a small house and P hates having people in it and I have to do stuff in the hols to the house etc etc but they will come and visit of course and I will go there again cos I bleedin well will!!! its the country I miss too... I feel at home in the landscape there and it also signifies the end of the summer and the start of round 2 of scans and going to work maybe or not and no cancer or lots of it and moving house and and and... you get the idea... but this isn't the thread for my psycho moments so melancholia will go away soon enough as it always does and today is my brothers birthday so meals out and fun to be had.
Get yourself a laptop and then you can do your secret vice whenever... I have to confess to seaking mine into the loo so I could go on here without him knowing.... haha hopeless aren't we? Also got my phone rigged up so can read stuff on there, but it drives me mad that I can't reply on it... Bit like alcoholics eh?
Thanks so much to you all, cos coming here and reading all your silliy comments and having all your lovely welcome backs really really helps a Little My feel less melancholic and more happy so, even though it hasn't got anything to do with cancer really, thanks so much for the support- you don't know how much it means somedays...
hugs all round and hope Sunny is getting a good nap in here comfy chemo chair... snore really loudly, Ann just for us....
Little My xxxxx

i have to say you lot are a definate tonic and ive been reading but not replying much as LM says, you cant seem to reply on the phone which is really annoying.
why are you lovely ladies sneaking into toilets and god knows where to do your replying to these posts? gosh its not secret its a great crazy place to be, to comfort ourselves, have a laugh and just be ourselves i think, partners should realising its helping and not be upset by the fact you are replying.
im not having a great time at the minute i feel low obviously not as low as you lovely gents and ladies get as its my sister with the cancer card and not me and not sure how i would get through a day sometimes of thinking what ifs if i didnt have you lovely ladies to follow and laugh along with
Hiya Ange and welcome.....you dont have to be a cancer card holder to be a member we actually need someone to look after us, sounds like you have the credentials but my big sis LM is the employer so better speak to her about what you will be rquired to do ha ha this family is growing how great is that.
I have had a day of guilty pleasure after not sleping a wink last night. i stayed in bed watching tv until 11 !!!!! definatly a severe case of lazyitus. I then went out to buy my little stepdaughter her birthday bits for our little tea party on sunday shes only 4 but wanted a hello kitty theme, so 'hello kitty' she gets lol.
Been playing grand tourismo with hubbie this afternoon on the playststion, you know what they say if you cant beat them you might as well join them. he even bought a proper stearing wheel fo me to make it easier....sweet !!!
have just had a long bath, you know th/e relaxing kind, loads of bubbles, book and lots of facial and body scrubs and now just waiting for dinner.....feel very relaxed but then the tramadol would have helped with that as my head has been killing me again, bit worried actually as my nose is running for nose reason so think the cancer has gone a bit deeper , thank god theres only 12.5 days to go till they chop it off !
hope you all had a good day and sunny hope you are ok, been thinking of you.
leave you with a joke, heard it on the radio this morning apparently its supposed to be the most popular one from the edinburgh festival.......
'I needed a password eight characters long so i picked snow white and the seven dwarves'
lots of love xxxx
Sorry you're feeling low at the moment angec2011, but I don't think you have to apologise for not being the one with cancer. My daughter Maggie has been coping with cancer for over 3 years now, and my mood swings over that time have been something to marvel at. Now that the only 2 humans in this flat are both fully paid up members of the cancer club, and will have the cards to prove it, we've started looking at the cat and wondering... However, she had a check up yesterday and despite her mood swings, all was fine (phew!). If we're cheering you up while venting all this craziness, then that's fan-bl**dy-tastic!
Oh LM, I hope your bro has a great birthday night, and it cheers you up too. I know you're bound to feel down with what you're facing over the next couple of months, but as you say, we're here to help!
I've had a good day today, though my stay in the ward was a bit longer than planned due to the fact that every time I went to the loo, the bl**dy dripped stopped working and it took them a good 5 or 10 minutes each time to get it started again. So I was hoping to escape around 4, but it was almost 5 by the time I got away and I just made it home before 6.
Didn't get much sleep last night, and didn't get a chance to make it up today either. The amount of fluid they were pushing through the drip, and the amount of fluids I tend to drink meant I had several trips to the loo and would just start to get comfy and nod off, when the bladder made it's presence felt! However, the nurses were able to track me down at any give time, because as well as the drip machine bleeping every time I entered the loo, they could follow the trail of hair that I'm shedding. I didn't realise how bad it was until I went to the loo at one point and discovered a build up around the loo, and some hair (how?) down the bowl. It was very long, so I'm fairly sure it was from my head. If it wasn't, I've got something new to worry about!
My new lump has been written off as lumpy boob syndrome, yeah! So whoever suggested that's what it was (was it you Jinty?), congratulations because as soon as you said that I started to relax and felt a bit embarrassed for getting all tied in knots about it.
Other than feeling very tired, I actually feel ok today, thought I am retaining a lot of fluid still and between swollen hands and keeping my fingers crossed for everybody, typing this post is very hard work!
My other bit of news was very exciting. Despite all the excess fluid I'm carrying about, I still managed to register a weight loss when I was weighed this morning. I was so excited by the news, I actually forgot to ask how much I'd lost. If I ever do get rid of this fluid, I might really start to fit into my next-size-down clothes! Yippee!
I think the double chin/s are here too stay though...
Love to all, Ann x
Sneaky Annette, slipping that in when I was thudding on the keys with my giant fists! Glad you managed some 'me' time today. Hope the nose 'thing' gets its jotters soon and I'll look forward to hearing about the new improved model being unveiled.
Loved the joke!
Ann x
Welcome back Little My. You're right I was out boozing last night. Was at the local club to see a psycho, sorry psychic.
Have had my share of the miniatures and all that's left to say is...................................
HIC! xx
oh ive been here a while ladies but ive been on the "dumb things people said" until a few found it a bit offensive so lovely sunny and LM created this thread with a warning its just i read loads and cant reply on ipod via the emails or the browser but i do read and i dod giggle you are all amazing!
for those that dont know, my sister has cancer, not only does she hold a cancer card she also has autistic traits and global development delays although in taking a look at her you wouldnt guess anything is wrong, well apart from if you realsied she is now sporting a wig or a headscarf then you would recognise the cancer card but in herself before the cancer struck she would have been one of those people that stays ages at the counter checking her change before other customers cuold have their go adn you would be gritting your teeth not to say move on, unawares on her needs.
she is coping ok, loving any attention and has been covered in every attention manageable by my parents but i think its been over bearing so has gone back to her husband (we dont like him but if she is happy then so be it)
i on the other hand find solace to come here and read your posts, you dont hold your tongues you say it as it is and like me LM types as fast as she thinks hehe
Hi there you lot... ange is a bit of a 'bloke' in that she sits sniggering behind her copy of ok magazine... and just occasionally tells us we are a tonic and I say I like gin with it...and that's the way it goes... nice to have you back ange.. missed you!
Sunny, do you want to swap clothes? My thighs swelled up on the flight so looking really weird -skinny with thunder thighs and have eaten soooo much that I won't get into anything soon so you can have my size zero the way you are going, and I'll have your size whatever...?
Where else in the world would the phrase I've got a lumpy boob be good news haha Still, good news eh? so pleased for you. I shed huge amounts of hair too... thinning ha ha Oh and I got stuck on the phone with another aunt I have. I lied, I do have another aunt and uncle... something to do with my dad's side of the family... divorce when I was 8, died when I was 17 so not a lot of contact.. we exchange christmas cards and that is it. Anyway, they were the ones who sent me the flowers and the sympathy card for dead people... my brother is in touch with them so they phoned to wish him happy birthday and of course I had to say hello. .... head tilt... how aaaaaare you? etc etc the full works... Lets just say she is praying for me.... Told brothers girlfriend and she said "well that's you cured then haha" I like her...
Ha ha Christine I was right... spooky! How did I know?? thanks for the welcome back...
Annette- sounds like a great day.... I play computer games with my brother ... great fun! and a long bath how lovely...
Had a lovely day today with my brother. Played the most silly game this eve accompanied by a bottle of champagne... the first person writes down something like children building a snowman and then the next person has to draw it. Each person gets 3 secs to see what they drew and 20 secs to draw it... bit like chinese whispers but with drawings... might not sound funny, but honestly, it had me peeing with laughter... try it sometime...
So quite happy today despite nearly fainting at the shops (zero stamina, bleedin fatigue!)does my head in grrr) mind you it stopped me spending too much money... so some positives in it I suppose.
Got 9 hours on a train tomorrow down to Devon and no signals on the train and none once there so probably won't be in touch tomorrow. How will you cope?? How??? You poor things... don't panic, I will be back home on saturday so just take a deep breath and hold on for the day eh? Don't do anything sensible now, will you?
Oh and annette, I am a bit scared of being in charge of you lot... It would be like herding cats trying to sort you lot out.... I think we should be a collective!
Goodnight love you all
Little Myxxx
So you came to Glasgow and you didn't EVEN think to drop in on your BIG sister - can't say I'm not upset...I had the coffee ready ( and my wine chilled) and had practised my head tilting and EVERYTHING!!
Sorry Sunny - wasn't me who diagnosed "lumpy breast syndrome" - but I'm glad that is what it is- cos really anything else would just be shyte!
We are now proud owners of a state of the art (well for £40.00) TENS machine for my husbands back pain - which is MUSCULAR!! - He shouts when i tilt my head...
I hope it works cos I REALLY want to make use of this Blue Badge facility - so far I keep finding legal parking spaces near where we want to be (OK- so far it's just been the hospital)
Talking of playing the "cancer card" - Hubby is now "milking it" for all it's worth - apparently this weekend is Football then Athletics and then Grand Prix's...and DVD's with people shooting and cars crashing... I may be on here ALOT...so youse all better be really silly (Please?)
