Welcome to Warped.
I wanted to come back in time and explain something as it doesn't make sense otherwise...(though not much of this thread makes sense anyway) I set up this thread as explained below with a lovely dear lady called Sunny Leith. We had a lot of chat on here and the silliness got me and her and lots of others through some hard times. Sunny left the site when there was some criticism of warped and she deleted all her posts when she left. That is why it doesn't make sense to start with as all her posts are missing and it is a bit of a one sided conversation.... Enjoy it all the same...
Hi there,
This is a follow on from the 'dumb things people say' recent thread that is moving here with a health warning!
If you are feeling sensitive please don't read this thread as you may feel offended.... and we need a place to say what we need to say without worrying about offending people so you have been warned!!!!
This is for those of us who cope by being irreverent and silly and able to laugh at all the bad stuff. If you want to get the idea, read the last few pages of dumb things people say, I might see if I can cut and paste a few over to get us going....
In the meantime,
Sunny, you had me laughing my head off this morning with that image of you sitting there in your underwear, chocolate mouth etc!! I think it would have been hilarious if you had answered the door and invited them in.... they certainly would have needed oxygen by the time they got back down the speed they would have run away....!
Magel, how do they find us?? I live up a very steep hill in a very remote area and they made it up the hill to us too..... mind you, they were so out of breath they couldn't speak... almost felt sorry for them!
Can't remember what else we were on about as I can't see the last post anymore but lets continue here with the laughs and anyone new, feel free to join in.
Looking forward to hearing from you

Thank you, Hilary.
I think I may have it engraved on a little model Viking ship and put baggy on it and float in on the bath, set fire to it with the stereo at full blast ahahah aaaaaaa ah we come from the land.. haha. Oh hang on, I don't have a bath... hmmm.
Annie, you old scrubber, ironing curtains???? eh??? wot?
Oh bugger, there were more of you and I forgot. This site is not designed for chemobrains. I liked the old quick reply box where you could see what was said. Sorry, Hello and ooh, ahh what yay boo should cover most bases. Put them in the relevant order for your post. :)
District nurse just been. Different one. She was scary. She also didn't seem to know what to do and asked me... bad move that one! 'Oh make me lunch and go away?' suggests LM... 'dressing change? nooooo, thats fine ... OUCH! ' I am being very good and not doing anything except trawl the internet and lie around. (partly cos I can't do anything else haha) I decided to not to try and do anything until next week. I will start walking a bit then and getting out into town if I can make it and have some coffees with friends etc. I also need to buy new clothes. New knickers for starters. and trousers. lost loads of weight so my old ones dont fit. I didn't buy many new ones cos of baggy being in an awkward place so most didn't fit and i knew he might go at some point so wanted to wait. That some point has come!!!!
decided to get a tattoo where my RT tattoo dots are (well, one place anyway to start with) Been looking at ideas and can't decide. I was going to get one of my norse god protection symbols on it but it seems the neo nazis have hijacked it for their own foul ends so have to look again.
I did wonder about a Rolo hahaaaaaa
Ok, can't remember what any of you said and what i was going to say, I only came on to call annie a scrubber cos she said don't and i can't resist that :)

LM, I wondered how long it would take you ... When I mentioned ironing curtains it was in a rather loose sense - it's the kitchen curtains, well one end of the kitchen where there are double doors opening onto the garden, so these curtains are long & get grubby so they have to be washable but I just show them the iron then beloved hangs them up and any remaining creases fall out. See? And I really need some new ones. Both ends. I did the short ones last week and we cleaned the windows between us and I noticed they are not looking too great now.
Anyway I would love to do everyone else's housework, of course I would, but you see beloved wouldn't let me because I had cancer and he hardly ever lets me out on my own in case well I don't know if he thinks I've still got chemobrain and might get lost or spend too much or go on the razzle but there it is - sorry girls.
I fancy buying some new clothes though , what's the shopping like over your way LM? It's pretty good in Brum but I have to think of a way to escape supervision because clothes shopping with beloved is a nightmare, he won't let me browse or wander round he just says what do you want where is it get it lets go home. One of these days I'll slip the leash ...

I don't iron curtains, I hang them while they're still slightly damp. Job done.
I've just done a rather desultory vacuum round the house, plus I have pulled out one of the cases of children's books in my bedroom and hoovered up the cat hair behind it - and put the books back into order while I'm about it, as the cats are forever knocking them off. I think that's enough for the day. I found a lost curtain ring, too. Oh, the excitement.
LM, how come you lose weight when you didn't even need to while I turn into a blimp?
May I suggest the rune Eeyore - http://www.antiquitiespewter.com/images/runes/Antiquities_00016.JPG? If I were getting another tat, I'd get a Tree of Life - http://www.celticartstudio.com/Media/WebLogos/TreeofLifeByJenDelythN.gif - ironic as that might be in the present circumstances. But then I would not be able to rest, having two tats - it would be so untidy - and would have to get a third one for the sake of balance, and that way madness lies. Not that I can afford a tat as things are, plus I need to wait and see what's left of me when the doctors are through.

Hang on a minute..... never mind ironing... YOU LOT WASH YOUR CURTAINS?????
ARE YOU MEANT TO THAT????
NO ONE TOLD ME!!!!!!
I guess that's what comes of not having a mum long enough to show you the weird ways of housewifery. Actually she showed me how to put up curtain rails, and fix and shelf and wire a plug etc but never about washing curtains.... hmmm.
I only have one pair of curtains any way haha. We had them made for us once upon a time when we had more money than sense. They are gorgeous reds and golds pattern and have gone back up in our new house. We had a curtain rail made for them originally by a blacksmith that was a snake- bay window so one end was a big spiral tail and the other end open mouthed snake. Unfortunately it was made to measure the window so left it behind. ...
I did think about getting curtains for the bedroom now we have moved and have a bungalow and neighbours but not quite got beyond the thinking stage. If you have to wash them... well, they may stay as thought!
Hilary, that was funny cos I was just looking at those tree designs and that one is nicer than the others I saw... I do like them and a nice idea. It has to have something to do with life I feel. I did find a nice raven one, but as they are associated with death, I thought best not eh? ;)
I never got a tattoo cos fear of my mum murdering me when a youngster, and then indecision and then everyone was getting one so wanted to be different and not have one and then, oh you know... now I think well, why not cos I might not be around forever and bits might be removed haha. So, maybe as a birthday pressie, if my wound has healed enough to be able to lie down to get it!! Hmm don't know that I would ever decide....
Hilary, are you thinking of having your internal organs tattooed???? Cos otherwise I think you are safe. If you are worried he's going to remove the odd limb or something then don't let him loose on you!
Oh god, sometimes i even bore myself with how much I can write!!!
See you later

Have you seen the photo of JuliaF on an exercise bike ( on Priscilla's blog today)? And she wanted me to do her housework! Cheek. Actually at my hospital they got us to do physio twice a week before our ops to build up lung capacity, improve heart rate & general strength, so we did the exercise bike thing and it told you your mph ( or kph if you were foreign) and calories burned and minutes spent so doing, It was exhausting but that was not all, there was steps and ball bouncing (sorry chaps, that's football) and wallbars and everything. I went home knackered but fit to be anaesthetised. There was some more after the op but I gave it a miss after two visits on the spurious grounds that I could follow a similar routine at home which of course I couldn't & didn't.
Cruton a couple of miles from our house is a sewage treatment works much favoured by seagulls for some weird reason and every so often its quaint odour wafts our way and we have to shut all the windows so I can sympathise with you.
Never had a tatto but seen the Edinburgh one on telly because beloved adores military stuff and war films and loud noises. I don't. But I'm very tolerant.

Hello, Sheepish here.... I have to admit that is definitely me on the spin bike but that photo is about 8 years old! I am older, cancerfied and menopausal now!
I did threaten to get a tatt last year (and may still do so for my 50th!) around the 18 inch scar I have running from my lady garden to 3 ins above my navel. I wondered about a snake, or some footprints, or a grapevine?
What do you think, peeps?

(Big bowing and scraping to you Annie for even suggesting you do my housework...)
Just had to chip in on the topic of tattoos.... Tom has one that he got while travelling before we got together. Its a small gheko but I always call it a gherkin oops. He wanted to get a new one a while ago and I said only if it says "I love Clair" - so he has not had another tattoo teehee :)
I dont think I could have one I'm bit bit needle phobic - I'm a wimp bascially

Good afternoon everyone,
Well looks like a few of us have had a busy day round the house ironing, painting, hoovering etc. I gave my wardrobe a spring clean and changed all my winter clothes to my summer ones so I hope the weather stays nice now!
I had two tattoos in my twenties when they weren't popular and I was quite miffed when every Tom, Dick and Harry got one. You know I love fairies well I have one on my shoulder and a dolphin on my ankle.
Hope the sun shines tomorrow 'cos we are going to the zoo with my son and grandson. Picnic style too so yum yum.
Ooooh LM your nurse today didn't sound very competent asking how the dressing was done. Told you i'd come round to do it, I love doing ribbon gauze dressings, there's quite an art to them.
Well my wines in the fridge chilling for later, so good Friday night cheers to all,
Take care
