Welcome to Warped.
I wanted to come back in time and explain something as it doesn't make sense otherwise...(though not much of this thread makes sense anyway) I set up this thread as explained below with a lovely dear lady called Sunny Leith. We had a lot of chat on here and the silliness got me and her and lots of others through some hard times. Sunny left the site when there was some criticism of warped and she deleted all her posts when she left. That is why it doesn't make sense to start with as all her posts are missing and it is a bit of a one sided conversation.... Enjoy it all the same...
Hi there,
This is a follow on from the 'dumb things people say' recent thread that is moving here with a health warning!
If you are feeling sensitive please don't read this thread as you may feel offended.... and we need a place to say what we need to say without worrying about offending people so you have been warned!!!!
This is for those of us who cope by being irreverent and silly and able to laugh at all the bad stuff. If you want to get the idea, read the last few pages of dumb things people say, I might see if I can cut and paste a few over to get us going....
In the meantime,
Sunny, you had me laughing my head off this morning with that image of you sitting there in your underwear, chocolate mouth etc!! I think it would have been hilarious if you had answered the door and invited them in.... they certainly would have needed oxygen by the time they got back down the speed they would have run away....!
Magel, how do they find us?? I live up a very steep hill in a very remote area and they made it up the hill to us too..... mind you, they were so out of breath they couldn't speak... almost felt sorry for them!
Can't remember what else we were on about as I can't see the last post anymore but lets continue here with the laughs and anyone new, feel free to join in.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Little My x
Just a quickie before picking mum up.
GOOD LUCK HILARY, everything possible is crossed tight. ((((hug)))))
Welcome back LM and we await a full briefing.
Brilliant Tim, glad it all went well and raised lots of cash.
Catch you all later, must dash
Jan xxxxxxx
Hi LM
Glad you are home safely and no longer having to listen to twatty people going on and on and on and on and on!
Hi Hilary
Everything crossed, including my eyes. You know we all want good knews from you so Mr Crab had better have taken his leave!
Hi all you other beautiful Warpeees.
Much love,
Nin xxxxx
Hi you warpy lot
Well no sign of the redecoration yet - unless they have and they have replaced like for like. I may sneak in over night and paint a window on the wall. Then again maybe not, I don't think I can be bothered driving all the way back to work! It would be sooo fun to see everyone's reactions tho ;)
Tom had his scan on Thursday, they tried way too many times to get a canula in, tried using an ultrasound and that didn't work. They got one in, but it hit a nerve and sent shooting pain through his hand. He says his hand still doens't feel right but he won't go to the doctors :S In the end he just had the scan without the canula or the dye. I think he's worrying about the results. its been such a long time since he was last scanned and last night he was talking about if he needed surgery for the lymph node in his chest. I'm worried too, but I'm trying not to be as it won't do him any good if I stress. We had a good chat about it all and about the possible outcomes etc and how he wants to get a job. But he wants me to help with all his applications.
thanks Odin for what you said about Mum, I do worry sometimes when she has those moments (I
Hils - I wish I'd had that list during my horrible meeting this time last week!!
Jan - I'm not sure what to suggest about the dog, have you tried talking to your Mum about it? It sounds like the doggy needs some love? If your dad loved the dog so much, maybe you Mum just needs to see how special the dog is? (Sorry I'm a bit of a pet nut!!!) Failing that, I'll have him :) Although Nina cat might bully him, she's not very good at sharing!
Went to see my niece on Saturday - Gemma and Mark were about to dish up their lunch and Alissia decided to wake up very nosily! So guess who had to look after her? Aunty Clairlybel of course! I was told to sing - apparently that's what makes her ssshhh whilst waiting to be fed. I could not think of anything to sing apart from the song that me and Tom made up about Nina to the postman pan tune. They thought I was crazy!!! So then I tried the Friends theme tune oh dear
Congratulations to Annette!
How did the LM resuce mission go????
Tim that did make me laugh about your friend getting lost trying to find the loo!! hehehe - trying hard not to laugh at work as I'm getting funny looks.
GOOD LUCK TODAY HILS!!!!!!!!! (I'M COPYING LM AND SHOUTING, I'M NOT SURE WHY)
Hugs and spoons and rooms with windows (not windows with rooms as I nearly said ) to everyone :)

Sitting here freezing cold cos the builders are demolishing my fireplace and have got all the doors open. Nice blokes. Look and sound just like Rod Gilbert... anyway, they are nearly done for today so I am going to sneak off this afternooon for a sauna and maybe a swim (got a cold and fancy warming up)
Clairylooony, I lost all my confidence after my treatment. I think everyone does. I'm still not as confident as I was and was panicked about going back to work etc to start with. I read a really good article about post treatment that helped me a huge amount. I realised it was normal to feel like that and that relaxed me a lot. I am no good at links etc but if you type in Dr Peter Harvey article 3 into google you should find it. Show it to Tom - it might help him (and you)
And have a hug from me... reverse psychology might work... the people who told me not to do anything and take it easy and all that were the ones who made me want to do stuff (but then again, I am an awkward sod)
Lots of love to you all and I am finding it hard to type with frozen crossed fingers for Hilary....
I reckon you could print off picture of windows and views and stick them on the wall so you get a change of view every day.... could have some fun with that. I don't think it should be allowed to have offices without windows. Not good for the soul...
Hugs to all but extra ones to Hilary

HI LM, that's the one you told me about, heres the link
I found it helps too, x Kev
Hi Little My
Thanks for your speedy reply. I think someone else has posted that on here before (or another board somewhere) and I've sent it to Tom to read, and he doesn't even want to read it or the one about spoons which I thought was genius
Not sure about Tom and the job front - he is very indecisive
I might try printing some window pictures!!!

Tim, I hope your friend realises that most hotels have CCTV in their corridors these days. I hope that one didn't have a female security officer on duty!
LM I am sending you a really warming welsh cwtch to tide you over until that wood burner is operational. Brandy or whisky with your personal choice of flavouring such as lemon and honey is good for you when you have a cold. It does nothing for the cold, but it's a good excuse for a booze up.
Sorry about the tinnitus, I find it's more annoying sometimes than others, but you learn to live with it.
Clarabel, LM could well be right about the lack of confidence and looking back, that could have been part of my problem. The more I do the easier it becomes, but I'm not there yet!
I have a copy of the article LM refers to which I downloaded, I'll try to send it to you if I can.
It's got to be good results Hillary or they've made a mistake. Don't forget we have a formidable fighting force in our rescue team which now has two successful missions under their belts. Tell them if they get it wrong we will all travel in Cruton's bin to put it right. We've all got everything crossed,I SAID WE'VE ALL GOT EVERYTHING CROSSED!
Love hugs cwtches and krams to all,

As for the windowless room, why not have a large screen TV fed by a CCTV camera on the outside of the building, it could look just like a window.
Thanks, Kev... is that one of the ones that got sent off to the moderator? cos it only just got in my inbox now... Nice to see you over here on warped....!!! You know you are not allowed to leave now don't you?
Welcome anyway... glad it helped you too.
Now, to cheer Hilary up, we must all put on striped handknitted woolly socks, birkenstock sandles and hold hands and sing...
All together now...
Kumbayaaah ma lord, kum bayyyaaaaaaaaah....
Then we will sing mine and ems fave
Take me hoooooooome cunnnnnty road.... lah lah laaaaa
and just for Hilary to make her smile (or revenge perhaps??- first brought to our consciousness by Sunny as the closing music for Little Pubes memorial service, and always worth a second outing....

(hiyah moderator.. thought I'd give kev a break)
Love to you all

ps the builders have gone and the door is now shut but there is a huge gaping hole in the sitting room now where the wind is howling down.. I think its called a fireplace....
OMG, I managed to get to page 16 before I could no longer see the screen I was crying with laughter so much. Found this while trying to figure out a way to curb the coffee cravings (not allowed any more coffee/food/chocolate today as due to go in for my mastectomy at 11am this morning).
I WANT A COFFEE!
If I see one nurse walking down the ward with coffee in her hand I swear I gonna mug her - GIMMEEEE COFFEEEEEE!
So today I say goodbye to the alien infested booby and say hello to my new one which for some strange reason my hubby has decided just has to be named "Bob". Says he can't wait for "Bob's" coming out party (he is gonna have to wait a long while for that one!) and is looking forward to playing with the stick on nipples (and yes he has been told he can only stick one on at a time although where he wants to stick them is another matter!)
We have decided no funeral for the alien infested booby, it doesn't deserve it. Just gonna put it in a giant firework and blast it to smithereens - a fitting end to the aliens I think. Then a champagne cocktail to welcome "Bob" to the family.
So ta ta aliens and hello morphine induced giggles when I meet "Bob"
Hehehehe
Hi Lorna,
Welcome to warped! People who come to warped are never allowed to leave, especially if they have a sense of humour like yours!
Good luck with the operation and we look forward to welcoming Bob as a healthy bouncing baby!
Love,
