Sleeping at night

I recently had a mastectomy and am a side sleeper.  I have to sleep on a wedge pillow for the next few weeks and find it impossible to get a decent night's sleep. I get an hour, then 20 minutes, then wide awake and it is really debilitating. I am going to see the doctor this afternoon for some sleep support to get me through the wound period. Anyone have any advice?

  • Hi

Could I recommend you ask this question on the Breast cancer forum where it’s more likely to be seen by people with relevant experience? To do that, click on the link I have created. There should be a green button towards the top right of the page where you can click to join the forum, and then you will see a white button to add a new post.

I haven’t had a mastectomy but have had both my hips replaced and had to sleep on my back for 6 weeks after each of those. I bought a specialist neck support pillow which helped enormously and also put a pillow under my knees.
