Hi all,
I'm very new to this forum. I am going to be caring for a relative in the coming weeks when they are discharged from hospital. They had a stroke and during this time in hospital they were found to have cancer which has metastasised and spread. There's no treatment. Its in their lungs mostly and their stomach but has also spread to the brain.
We live in a house with an upstairs. Walking and mobility is limited. I want to be as prepared as possible and give them the best care. So far, we are looking into hiring a stair lift. They will have their own room which is reasonably close to the bathroom and also have bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. We are going to be some furniture in storage to make sure hallways and rooms are easier to navigate. There's lots to plan yet as the multi agency team around them will likely also have input.
Any advice or suggestions you all have for what else we can organise or be considering at this stage I would really appreciate it!
