Hi everyone, I'm just at the beginning of my journey with myloma (just Monday). Talking to my family, very scared, trying to be brave, trying to be normal. Very shocked as I'm a healthy person usually, this has come from nowhere. Shedding my first tears at 4.30am! Always darkest before the dawn they say.
Hi Julie2468 and I see it’s your first post so a very warm welcome to the Macmillan Community but sorry to hear about your Myeloma diagnosis.
I know from experience having been on my blood cancer journey for over 25 years with two very rare, hard to treat types of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas (one incurable) that navigating this journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but I can also testify that blood cancers like Myeloma are very treatable……
But you will find talking with and getting support from people who have walked or are walking the ‘exact same' journey can help you a lot.
The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) so can I recommend that you look to join and put up your own post in our dedicated……..
…….. support group. This group is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
Thanks very much Mike. It's good to hear your experience. I'll have a look for the Myloma group.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
