Hi Dolly15,
It’s Megan here from Macmillan’s Online Community team. I saw your post and wanted to offer some support while you are waiting for other group members to reply.
I’m sorry to hear what has brought you to join the Community and the experience you’ve recently had. If you wanted to raise your concerns about your recent experience, you can do so by contacting the Patient advice and Liaison Teams (PALs) or Patient Advice and Support Service (PASS) if in Scotland. They are a point of contact for patients when you have concerns.
I’m afraid I don’t have clinical experience to offer some guidance with any further clinical questions you may have, however you can speak with the Information Nurses on the Macmillan Support Line. They can talk through your questions and concerns.
Whilst the Nurses on the Support line can’t access your medical records, they can provide support and information around diagnosis, treatment, and side effects, alongside explaining how you can access any additional support you may need.
To get in touch, you can call 0808 808 00 00 every day from 8am to 8pm. You can also email and use live webchat by selecting the option ‘questions for a nurse’.
There are also Cancer Support Advisors who can offer a listening ear and emotional support. They are available to help on the Support Line for as long as you need.
I hope the Online Community can be a place where you can find comfort from connecting with others who share similar experiences. If you need any support with using the Online Community, please don’t hesitate to email community@macmillan.org.uk.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
