Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Good evening Ih uk. I've just seen your post while chatting to Dingg. So sorry though that you're waiting to hear about your staging, so no wonder you can't sleep hon.
Stay here and we'll chat with you, although if it becomes a three way conversation, we'll have to make allowances for getting muddled up. Have you any idea when your treatment will start? xxx
Hi Ih
Welcome to the group, although I'm sorry you find yourself here.
Best wishes for your appointment and any treatment that you need.
There's usually someone around here to chat and as you may have seen we chat about all kinds of things, which can be a great distraction.
I hope you managed some sleep.

serious question on my mind someone said with the radio or chemo you need to clean toilets all the time or use seperate loo, wash things seperate
Is that true.
I wasn't told to use a separate loo which would have been impossible in our house, or to wash clothes separately. The main thing while having chemo is to avoid anyone who is ill so you don't become ill, I had to avoid the grandkids as they were little snot monsters .
There are some foods that are best to avoid such as undercooked eggs, sushi, kept warm foods, cured meats, pate, unpasteurised cheese (parmesan being a common one) etc. You can ask the cancer nurse for advice.

Good luck today sweetheart Sending you all the best for your results, and I hope you'll be able to start gaining control once you know what your treatment will entail. Fingers crossed you'll be able to sleep better too. Sending you hugs and strength xxx
Hi Dingg
Not for radiotherapy … I used to be a therapy radiographer. I think with chemo it depends on the type of drug being used. My sister had very aggressive chemo a couple of years ago for breast cancer and she had to use separate towels and clean the loo after use. Fortunately for her she’s got a separate loo in the loft so we were all sent up there lol. I wouldn’t worry too much about it just get lots of kisses in while you can.
