Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • There was just an interview on Radio 4 about the decline of green finches/chaffinches. RSPB say don't feed birds in the summer months. Bird feeders harbour a disease that is worse in the summer (can't remember its name). You can still feed suet still but not peanuts and seeds as the disease is more in there. If you put out water,  it needs to be changed daily as the disease lives in water (tap water goid due to chlorine).

  • Good morning Julie Sun with face I hope you managed to get some sleep last night sweetie x

Great tips about feeding the birds, so I'll be careful with what I put out for them now. I did know about feeding them less in summer, to encourage them to forage for themselves. And on the same subject, our bird table is on the floor with next door's cat lurking - number one suspect!

Have a lovely day hon xxx

  • Really lucky here in the M4 corridor to get red kites.

  • Aw sweetheart Kissing heart Don't overdo things hon, and sleep when you can. Sending you extra hugs and just try to relax if possible xxx

  • There's an amazing place in Scotland.A protected piece of land. They have loads of kites which they feed at certain times of the day. They're massive birds and watching them swoop for food is quite special.

  • Evidently, the RSPB have said not to put bird feeders out as it might spread avian flue more quickly m

  • Imagine us all giving you a big hug. You might be a bit squashed.Smile

  • Aww, thank you. I don't mind getting squashed in a big hug! xx

  • Why do appointments for scans always make me anxious. Stupid question. I know you all understand.
