Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Helloooo
Sorry folks for my tardy arrival .A warm welcome to both of our new people.
Cheers
Yes gave it 14 weeks no benefits whatsoever. So I stopped. The pain is still there . Had lots of other anti depressants before them . I'm suffering big time she just wants to up the dose . I don't think it will help . I'm very tolerant to drugs and no side effects. Was on codeine for 2 years. Didn't work.
Hi hon. I am just catching up. It can be difficult with so many balls in the air to get people to really listen to the thing that's the biggest problem for you.
Lack of sleep doesn't help and makes everything feel worse, be that worries or pain.
Getting on top of that pain will make a huge difference.
Do you always see the same GP?
Cheers
Hi again Maria. I'm back in again as I've got phone problems It's on the blink so I'm getting a new one later on today.
Aw, I love your kitties names. We'd love to give a home to one but can't for a number of reasons.
Anyway hon, Ray seems to know much more about pills than I do as the most I ever take is the odd paracetamol, but still tell them as having overwhelming pain isn't on. They'll most likely be able give you something suitable and it should help you to get some sleep. Really important you get that hon, as being exhausted doesn't help at all.
Give those gorgeous cats a fuss from me xxx
Hi

Cheers

When I was in a lot of pain from bladder cancer in 2018, I was given morphine based pain killer by intravenous infusion. It worked slightly for about 6 hours then started to make my kidneys ache so much that I refused to press the morphine trigger any more. The hospital had a pain management department which found something effective which did not cause other aches, lord knows what it was. Does your hospital have a specialist pain management department? I hope your doctor or cancer team can find something that helps you. It can be difficult getting through to them as they always so busy. Try the Macmillan help line tomorrow to see if they can suggest ways of speeding up your pain relief. xx
