Stage 1 lung cancer lower right lobectomy April 24 everything removed with no further treatment yearly scans for 5 years. How do people go about their lives without worrying you will get a recurrence
every day I worry
Hi again Suea ........ what 'takeaways' did you get from reading through the paper After Treatment Finishes - Then What? by Dr Peter Harvey as it highlights the post treatment milestones?
One of the best ways to unpack the fear of relapse is to talk with people face to face....... so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
I found our Maggie's a great place to unpack.....
For me.... I have been on my journey for over 25 years (See my story)....... my first type of rare Lymphoma is incurable.... my second type (diagnosed in late 2013) looks like the treatment worked........ and I am now coming up to 9.5 years out from my last treatment, I turn 70 this year and I doing great.
It's all about Defining and Controlling the space between the ears. As a family we do not allow the 'what if's?' define us and in turn rob us of this hard fought for life....... WE define how we live...... and look to live each day to the full.
