I've had bi lateral plural effusions drained over the last few weeks and plural biopsy and fluid sent for testing. I also have a diagnosis of chronic myeloid leukaemia (4 years).
Some tests have come back which says suspicion of low grade B cell lymphoma. Still awaiting further tests and appointment with my haematologist in 10 days to find out more.
One blood cancer is bad enough but to have two fills me with fear, both gor myself and my family.
Any info about further testing, treatment and general information would be much appreciated xxx
Hi Tina 1 I am Mike and I help out across our blood cancer support groups.
I was first diagnosed and lived with and treated for 2 rare types of T-Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL) ……. the first in 1999 when I was 44 was a slow growing, low-grade incurable type……
The second in late 2013 was a fast growing High-Grade NHL….. between late 2013 to late 2015 I was treated for both of them at he sane time…… I am now z9+ years out from my last treatment, I turn 79 at the end of the year and am living a great life.
Thus link will help you understand the diagnostic process…..
I see you have joined our Chronic myeloid leukaemia support group and if you find that you do have one of the B-Cell NHLs……. These groups will help you connect in.
