Following diagnosis of stage 4 ovarian cancer I have had chemo and then a full hysterectomy and 6 “ of bowel removed. I am now trying to recover. This is a slow process - too slow for my liking. I also now have AF and am permanently on blood thinners and heart tablet. Not sure how that can happen!?! Struggling to stay positive and accept life will never be the same.

  • Hi  and sorry to read about your journey and your post treatment challenges.

I have been on my journey with 2 types of very rare Non Hodgkins Lymphomas for over 25 years…...

The first was diagnosed way back in 1999 and is seen as a slow growing, treatable but incurable Lymphoma….. the second appeared in late 2013…… this was very aggressive so had to have 2 years aggressive treatment (See my story)

I am now just over 9 years out from my last treatment and as you say the recovery can take time….. for me it took a good 24 months to say I was out of the woods……. but even then the toxic damage done during my main treatment resulted in me having A-Fib then a heart attack in April 2022….. but 2 stents later I am fine….. but like yourself I am on blood thinners and heart tablet.

I turn 69 in a few weeks and my focus is on getting on with living this hard won life.

You may find it helpful to make a cuppa and have a look at this great paper…..
