Hi

Does anyone know when you can start to have hair coloured again following chemo please? It went very thin and lots came out, but didn’t lose it thankfully.

Last chemo was November 2019. Now on pembrolizumab since Dec 2019. Having this treatment every 3 weeks.

Thanks.

I'm in Lancashire so same here Lass! I shall be venturing out tomorrow so I shall peruse! I'll probably start off with a 'safe' colour then if it turns out ok who knows?! Funky here I come! Joy xx

  • How could I've forgotten henna?!

I used to work with someone who used it regularly on her long curly hair and it looked amazing.

    Go for it

Sorry for the delay in replying.

All the advice I got from the hospital and hairdressers all said to wait 6 months before using hair dye.

I bought some revolution root cover up from Superdrug, which is like an eyeshadow you brush in, so I’ve resorted to using that. The shade didn’t really match hair colour, so I’ve also used a shade of eyeshadow that I already had, and it works wonders! I just use a make up brush and brush it in. Really covers the grey well.

    Hope this helps x

    Hi prettygreeneyes

Thank you for your reply! I looked at a few options but I wasn't sure what to do because I'm such a ditherer but I had a really good cut today - best one for a few years - with a new hairdresser and it looks so good both my daughter and my hubby said it doesn't need any colour on it! So I'm going to leave it for now. I see my oncologist tomorrow so I will ask her advice anyway so at least I know where I stand!

    Thank you again! Grin

    Hiya Lass

    Discovered this at Superdrug

    https://www.superdrug.com/Hair/Hair-Colourants/Hair-Toner/Superdrug-Colour-Effects-Warm-Copper-Gold-7-34/p/751860#bv-reviews

It's a toner but you use it as a conditioner. Tried it Friday and left on for about 15 minutes and you could see the colour but tried again today & left it on a good half hour and the colour is really bright! Also covered the greys at the front. Currently selling 2 for £3 and there are other colours. I'm really chuffed with the result & it hasn't dried my fine hair out. Probably used about a third of a bottle each time but hoping that by leaving it on longer it will last a bit.

Thought I'd pass it on for you and anyone else here who may be interested Grinning x
