Hi, I found out 2 days ago I have breast cancer. I found a thickening of tissue in my breast. I thought it was a pulled muscle so waited 3 weeks before going to doctors. I have had an ultrasound and biopsy taken from the thickening and also a lymph node which I still can’t feel anything but surgeon noticed a lump there as well. The thickening is about 4cm wide and 5cm long. I inwill not know the stage until further tests and what the biopsy says. It can take 3-5 weeks and I feel so heartbroken. I have 2 young children and I’m 37. The surgeon said what he can tell me at this stage is that’s is treatable and he will able to treat it. I keep trying to find out what it most likely will be and possibly a stage to try and prepare myself and I read a positive story and feel a bit better but then find myself going diwn. black hole with negative stories. I’m trying not to google but it’s so hard. I’m hoping if it was stage 4 the surgeon would not have told me it’s treatable. I feel so lost and numb.
i don’t know how I’m going to get through these next few weeks and that’s before even know what I’m dealing with.
I can’t work I’m a fraud investigator and I just can’t concentrate at all but I feel i need to keep busy. It’s the quiet times in the morning before everyone wakes up in my house and throughout the night when alike it feels so heavy. The nights feel so much longer.
Hi KAR2
I am sorry you are going through this. Breast cancer is almost always treatable. I was diagnosed with.cancer that had spread to my liver in 2022. I have had treatment. I have a stable remission. I am not expecting to check out any time soon. Most breast cancer isn’t as advanced as mine was at diagnosis (my misfortune was to develop a primary tumour around a blood vessel). Most breast cancer patients have a good outcome. Hang on in there until you know the full story and the treatment plan. Waiting for results is one of the hardest things.
