Breast cancer

I survived breast cancer twice. Once 30 years ago then 13 years ago. Had lumpectomy on both chemo and radiation. Now  last March just knew something was wrong. Lower back pain. Took until August to diagnose secondary spinal cancer. I had to keep saying “no I don’t want pain management until I know what the pain is”. Secondary spinal cancer does not show on blood work. Took a young PA to say “I don’t quit until we find it”. She ordered mri then directed me to a cancer doctor they ordered the pet scan where it showed. I am blessed I. That it is slow growing.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that after dealing with breast cancer twice you've recently discovered that your cancer has returned and spread to your spine.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you might also like to join the secondary breast cancer forum as you'll then connect directly with others who have a secondary.

If this is something that you'd like to do, clicking on the link I've created will take you there.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
