Hello everyone

I am a 39 years old mum of a 3,5 year old and an 11 month old. I found a tiny lump a few weeks ago and immediately told my GP. Turned out to be cancer with a tiny amount in my underarm lymph too. I am not triple negative and am estrogen positive so I’m now looking at chemo, surgery, radiotherapy and several years of hormone therapy.
has anyone been through or is going through a similar experience?
thanks so much

  • Hi EMS. How are you doing?! It has been a while since I wrote to you. I hope you are well and doing good. I had my imaging done two weeks ago and tumour is pretty much gone. I was shocked when I have heard it. Finally some real positive news. And it was after 3 rd chemo as well. Since then I had my fourth treatment, seen my surgent today and got date for the opp in November. Very emotional day.RelaxedSlowly getting there. Relaxed️

  • Hello!
that is such wonderful news! I also had my scan and she is also basically said she could see nothing to measure and could only see 1 swollen lymph node. I’m not having weekly Taxol for next 12 weeks and my surgery will be just after Christmas but I don’t have a date just yet.
hiw are you getting on with the chemo? Xx

  • Such a great news for you as well! Feels so real that the treatment is working. So far so good with my chemo, not feeling worse than before. Just need to get my head around the opp now. I will see the surgent again end of October to go through details of my opp. Why Are they stopping the taxol?! Xx

  • Oh ha ha my mistake on spelling - it should have said I am NOW having weekly Taxol. It was EC chemo before for every 3 weeks. Did you have Taxol? X

  • Phew! Just checking Grin I do get taxol as well with carboplatin and herceptin every three weeks. Two more to go and then herceptin for a year. X

  • Oh wow and how do you take that for the year, do you still have to have it on IV or it’s in a tablet?
can you also go on tamoxifen or your cells were not oestrogen receptive? X

  • It is an injection in my leg, takes about 2 min to administered. Tablets will follow as well, not sure when I will need to start those yet. X

  • Hi

how are you? Was thinking of you earlier and thought I would check how things are going? Are you still going with the chemo? X

  • Hi. I m doing ok. I have rang the bell on the 8th of October. Whoo hoo. Getting stronger now before the opp which is 9th of Nov. Seeing my surgent this wed to discuss it. Also I m still awaiting my genetics results, that should be any day now. It has been a long journey so far however I can't complain. Chemo wasn't that awful and cancer responded to treatment. Now I m praying for opp to go well and good clear pathology report. How things with you?! X

  • Yay we’ll done you! I have my 8th session of taxol tomorrow and then only 4 sessions next. I don’t have a date for my surgery yet but the surgeon is aiming for just after Christmas.
I had another ultrasound last week and I have also had a great response. There was nothing she could see but of course there will be micro cells the surgery and radio will get rid of.
have you had a good experience at the hospital that treated you? X
