Hi everyone, I got diagnosed with breast cancer last night, I’m in total shock. I phoned the doctors few weeks ago after finding a pea size lump, they referred me straight to breast Specialist, when I went to the appointment I had an ultrasound and biopsy taken. After waiting what feels like forever I had my result appointment two weeks later. Nothing was said after my biopsy, just that I’ll get an appointment for my results.
so yesterday I went to my appointment. I sat down and the doctor said “so what have you been told?” I replied nothing I had a ultrasound and biopsy and was told to come back for my results. No concerns at that time. Well after that his face said it all.
Its cancer!!!

the next part I zoned out, I’m only 32 I told him.
I need to have mri and mammogram to check for any other lumps etc, once I’ve got results for that, they will do surgery and remove them I’ll need radiotherapy. And maybe some tablets for 10 years. That’s all I can remember. Has anyone else been through this at such a young age. Would love to hear back from you all.

It know it’s so crazy. I’ve had mri and mammogram and seeing consultant tomorrow for my treatment plan. What type is yours? How comes your having chemo too? I haven’t been told that much. I hope your surgery goes well. Keep in touch if you like. Love Danielle x

I haven’t got all results yet but I know it’s neither oestrogen nor progesterone positive so it’s either HER+ or triple negative. If the invasive area is small I might not need chemo but it’s likely I will as it won’t respond to hormonal treatment. Wishing you all the best with your treatment plan tomorrow Bríd xx
