I'm worried I am making a fuss and annoying my medical team. I was meant to have my first zolodex injection yesterday. . . After speaking to a gp Friday ( via phone) I mentioned I thought it was meant to be every 28 days not 3 monthly. . .He said he thought it should be 28 days so was confused as well as the booklet hospital give says that also. (As does a phone call to Macmillan and breast cancer now)  Yet I had been told ( not discussed with) I was having it 3 monthly. . . He has tried to talk to my surgeon without luck so when I went yesterday they said don't have it. . . And gave me a apt for Thursday instead. He called today to say don't go now tomorrow as had spoken to my surgeon this morning and as they have had another meeting and discussed treatment and when my surgeon calls me next week with onc type test results she will speak to me then. . (She told the gp I should have it 28 days normally the only reason she has said 3 monthly is due to virus so lessening apts. . Stupid thing is I wasted one visit to surgery already ) . So now I am worried I am offending everyone with my questions about my treatment. Obviously everyone has been plunged into this virus situation and I know everyone is doing their best. . . Are they going to be thinking I am a complete pain for asking for clarification? Plus now instead of worrying about having it every 3 months not 28 days now I am also delaying having the injection so feel a fool.

Hi I’m new to this but like you I’m in limbo due to the current virus , I am stage 4 breast and lung contamination today they told me I am not curable but will treat me to extend life expectancy , but I’ve got to have a heart scan and then in a couple of weeks I will start treatment , they are going to give me additional injections to be done at home to help premote white cell production . I have rung my nurse everyday for the last 2 weeks with questions , at no point did I feel I was a pain as they know it’s all new to us x

  • I know exactly what you mean, but I think the staff would prefer you to get in touch with questions, even if they're flat out trying to reorganise everything around COVID. I've found their answers are usually quite rushed, and it's easy to read that as them being offended or bothered but given the situation it's more likely to be lack of time.

It's hard when they don't have the time they usually would to explain more about how they're making decisions about your care but at least they can reality check your concerns if you ask when you're worried.
