Hi I was diagnosed as secondary breast cancer suffer grade 2 on Monday this week it originally began in my right breast but has now spread to my lymph nodes and liver and lung it has been like riding a rollercoaster of emotions but I haven’t cried properly yet but I’m guessing I will ... I’m meeting an Oncologist on Monday to discuss treatment and plan of action to fight this disease looking for other people who have started this journey recently

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. It must be a lot to come to terms with but please don't think that you're feeling any less scared than anyone else because you haven't cried properly. I didn't cry when I was diagnosed with melanoma but felt very numb and shocked. We all react differently and there's no right or wrong way to feel.

As you'll have noticed I don't have the same diagnosis as you but I spotted that your post hadn't had any responses yet. Could I suggest that you also join and post in the secondary breast cancer group where you're likely to find others with a similar diagnosis to yourself. If you'd like to do that then just click on the link I've created and choose 'join this group' on the page that opens.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

I hope your meeting with the oncologist goes well tomorrow.
