Hi everyone, I’ve just joined this group having undergone my mastectomy and implant reconstruction on Thursday. I’m in more pain today than I was yesterday and feeling pretty low today. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or words of wisdom? Dawn x
Hi DawnyB welcome to the forum? Words of wisdom? You are asking a lot of us?
Im not surprised that you are in pain it will be kicking in now as all the meds they gave you in hospital to keep pain at bay will be getting out of your system. Plus, though you cant see ii I imagine there will be significant bruising under the skin and remember you have had a major op with the Mastectomy.
Have they given you anything for pain or suggested what you could take if you had any pain? If so make sure that you are taking it at regular intervals.
Feeling low is ok for a few days and it could just be the anaesthetic getting out of your system so dont be too hard on yourself.
Meanwhile Im sending some huge big hugs you way to let you know others are thinking about you and spurring you on to a full recovery. xxxxxx
