Hi all,

ive just had my first chemo 6 days ago and I feel awful! I thought I could carry on but does it get easier to deal with? I though I could go back to work in between sessions!

I think everyone is different. With the treatment I had the side effects improved between sessions but got worse each cycle that passed, however I managed to work the majority of the time on reduced hours. Good luck xx

  • Hi saw your post and it mirrors myself, lst chemo down and now on day 9 an beginning to feel my normal, other than sores in my mouth and throat, trying to think positive its necessary to do this to get rid of it but all the same hardgoing, has anyone got ideas for the sores, cleaning with a soft brush and eating ice cubes.......,

  • Hi if your mouth is sore rinse it with alcohol free medicated mouthwash twice daily.  Also use a soft toothbrush.  It should then clear up quite quickly. Check out all thr hints on the first posting of thr February chemo thread on the Breast Cancer forum x

  • Hi @daisy20, I mostly go on main breast page but spotted your post. My oncologist prescribed mouthwash that makes a protective lining over ulcers. Might be worth a try. I've luckily not had any so not sure how effective it is.xxx

    Benzydamine 0.15% w/v
