Hi I'm a newbie I was diagnosed 10 Days ago with invasive lobular breast cancer, grade 2, hormone positive, no Her result yet, waiting for an mri. Have 1st appointment with consultant tomorrow feeling nervous.. Just wanted to say hi
Hi I'm in a similar situation, grade 2 stage 2 invasive ductal breast cancer. Now 6 weeks post surgery and awaiting chemo to start.
Have a list if any questions you have for the surgeon. Although mine were great and went through everything thoroughly. I found the worst bit is the wait between appointments. But try to keep busy and positive.
Keep in touch with your breast nurse and I was always able to ring them with any questions or worries
Good luck for the appointment.
Hi Autumn49,
I was in a similar position to you, this time last year.
I was diagnosed with invasive lobular and grade 2/3 as My tumour was big at 62mm, later found to be multi focal, which I believe is 2/3 tumours together. Hormone pos and HER2 neg. I didn’t have an MRI.
How did the appointment go with the consultant?
Please let us know how you got on, whatever happens, someone will have knowledge of it and will be here for you x
Appointment went OK, saw the specialist registrar, Her2 was borderline so they will repeat test on the lump once removed, waiting for MRI on both breasts to avoid missing anything small lurking elsewhere. Apparently surgery lists are pretty full but nurse said that's our problem, we will fit you in. They were very good and gave us confidence. Breast nurse is calling today to see how I am.
I am using the waiting time to get super organised at home and make time to enjoy a walk every day. Both breasts were biopsied so getting some twinges still as they heal internally.
How are things one year on? Beachwalker19 x
Hi Autumn
same as me lobular stage 2 hormone receptive positive and HER2 negative. I have had my surgery mid August but due to complications has another surgery beg of Sept. I am all fine now and starting my treatment of hormone therapy tamoxifen for 10 years and radiotherapy which starts end of October and I am nervous about that. I am borderline for chemo so waiting on DX Onco test results to confirm if chemo would be beneficial.
everyone is lovely and supportive as we know how you feel.
Love Netty xx
Hi Autumn49,
I love a walk, hence the name lol.
I walked nearly everyday whilst I was on Chemo, I was determined to do it, I started Chemo in January so mine we’re pretty cold walks but I think it kept me sane and I felt invigorated, it really helped me. The last couple of chemo were harder and I would feel shattered days 5-8, but if I had to walk around my bedroom and on the landing I would do, even if I forced myself to get up out of bed.
I batch cooked meals and bought easy meals to prepare. Moved somethings around in my cupboards so they were easier to reach. My advise is buy some dry shampoo, I couldn’t wash my hair properly after my mastectomy, it was a real faff, my daughter bought me some, best thing I had.
Im doing well Thank you I look back now and it seems to have gone really fast, I really didn’t think it would.
My taste returned quite quickly, I underestimated my energy levels after finishing chemo but didn’t take that long to come back. Hair is growing back and eyelashes, eyebrows have returned.
Have Lymphoedema from node clearance and severe damage to veins in chemo arm, but I’m here so can’t complain.
Gentle Hugs x
Hi ladies
im in a similar situation to you guys, stage 2 invasive ductal. Injections on Monday then Operation is on Tuesday for partial mastectomy on right breast and lymph nodes. And then wait and if radio or chemo. Getting very nervous and anxious now x
Good Luck to you all x
Hi Kemp77,
I understand how you are feeling I was exactly the same. I have a phobia of needles so that added to the anxiety and fear I had. But in the end it was ok and you cope. I am now waiting to start my radiotherapy at the end of the month and I am now anxious about that.
Wishing you positive thoughts for Tuesday and strength to get through this part and you will. Are you having the radioactive dye injection on Monday? Try not to worry it’s not that bad as I was in meltdown over that.
please let us know how you got on and are feeling?
Love Netty xx
Hi ,
Wishing you lots of luck for today and tomorrow.
Just try to think of this as a positive thing, I know it’s not easy at all, but it’s a step closer to wellness.
Please let us know how you are getting on.
Gentle hugs T x
