Does anyone know if we are entitled to more than 1 wig free on the NHS?, I got mine in November 2017, finished chemo in march if 2018 buy my hair is not really coming back at all on the top (fine on the sides and back)
Hi Lynne,
When I went to the wig clinic at the hospital the lady told me you can only get one wig on the NHS. This surprised me as she also told me the wigs only last about 6 months so if that's the case it would be necessary to get a second wig and pay full price.

Hi
I'm not sure if you can get help for a second wig or not. Have you tried giving Macmillan a ring i'm sure they would be able to help. Their phone line are open 7 days a week, 8am-8pm 0808 808 00 00.
They might be able to give you advice on how to get help towards a wig of you aren't entitled to another voucher from the NHS.
Will you let us know how you get on, will be handy to know.
Hi,
I haven’t heard of anyone getting a 2nd wig free. I didn’t even get my only wig free. Maybe it’s a postcode lottery!
I received a voucher for £90, which was great. My wig was about £120 in the sale. I have recently cut it a bit as the ends were straggly and it looks like new again.
Definitely try Macmillan first.
