hi everyone I’m due to start fec t but have been feeling under the weather. Would that affect the chemo? I’m not sure whether to tell my nurse about it or not as I just want to start the chemo. Sooner it starts sooner it finishes. Hope everyone is well. X
Hi livelovelaugh, I have recently started the Fec-t treatment on the 11th April. Also felt unwell with side effects and cold symptons, I'm sure it won't effect your treatment, but would inform your chemo nurse just to be on safe side. My next treatment is on Wednesday 1st May. Hope everything goes well for you.

Hiya,,
I had a cold the week before starting chemo. The GP said that they would probably delay the start but when I went in on the day, the drs on the chemo ward examined me and said that it was ok for chemo to go ahead.

Thank you both for getting back to me. I completely forgot to mention I had been feeling rubbish as my chemo was meant to start tues 30th but ended up having it done straight after the pre chemo talk today 29th. I got all worked up for it, to cruelly fond it wasn’t as bad as expected. However still on day 1. I’m keeping positive though as I know I’ll be fine. Having three young children helps I guess, they’re 7, 5 and 2. How are you finding the treatment? It’s all the uncertainty that scares me about it, but I’ll be fine I’m sure. I have a good support network around me who at the min nothing is too much trouble. My mum has been doing all my washing and housework and won’t let me lift a finger. She lives just up the road, I know she’s only helping but seems silly her doing it all when I’be felt fine. My husband is my rock, cliche I know. Not sure how he’s going to be at getting kids organised if/when I need him too but hey we shall see. At least 2 out of three can dress themselves, poor 2 year old. anyway sorry for wittering on. Sending you lots of love and positive thoughts xxx
Hi All,
Just wanted to say, I was terrified of starting chemo, I could not stop shaking, my legs were shaking uncontrollably, It took ages for it to calm down, I’m not usually like that, I’m more, “right let’s do this”, just get on with it type of person, I think it frightened my hubby, don’t think he had ever seen me like that before.
I didn’t really get SE’s from EC, just a bit of constipation, dry skin and loss of taste. I did cold cap first three chemos, but found it wasn’t for me and was losing hair anyway so didn’t bother for last three chemos which were Docetaxel. Had some aches and pains with the first one of those and Hand, Foot Syndrome after 2nd, obviously everybody is different but you will find your way.
Hope you are all well, Gentle Hugs x x
