My darling Stuart passed away on Friday 14 August. I’m devastated. I was able to stay overnight in his room so I was there when he died. He had gone into hospital three weeks prior with pneumonia and we thought with a course of strong antibiotics he would recover but in the last week we were told that he had a matter of days. The cancer had finally destroyed him, I’m still in shock. I have a friend staying with me this weekend but she is heading home tomorrow. I feel like an abandoned child. I had spent the nearly two years caring and protecting Stuart and it hurts that I can no longer do that. We didn’t have children though he has three grandchildren from a previous marriage. I have a dog and a cat who are my sole purpose for getting up as I’m retired, I’m 70 years old. I’m independent with just niggling health issues. In that respect I’m fortunate. Sorry I’m rambling. I just so scared of doing this part of my life on my own.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
