Hi. How is everyone else doing.

Im having a tough time. I hate the heat which itself neans Im home alone a lot more as its been too hot to go out.

Then I got a virus in my eye which causes corneal ulcers, I have a long history its nothing new but it means i am at the hospiral every week for review. That with the heat, side effects from the high dose of antivirals has made me feel proper miserable.

To top it all, I found a tiny mole that appeared from nowhere, went to dermatoligy, expecting them to say they will just monitor it, but no, they want to whip it out, in the next 2 weeks. So the logical part of me says, most are benign, its just a precaution etc etc but with everything we went through with Tony, you cant help but think can you? His cancer was rare, very rare, but someone has to get the rare ones dont they?

That was it really, its the reason Ive been a bit quiet. X

  • Aww Malengwa I hope you are ok.  We are all here for you when you want to chat.  Let us know how you get on at the hospital.   We can go through each bit together if it helps.  Sending a big hug

  • I wish I could give you a big hug, you sound as if you really need one. I'm so sorry you're having to cope with these things on top of all the everyday crap we're all dealing with here. These times we miss having our other halves to talk to and to help us through, nothing seems quite as bad when you have someone to share it with. As nicangel says, our little community is here anytime we need a bit of support. Sending love and a virtual hug xx

  • Thanks both, yes its these times Im missing him so much more. Even trudging back and forth to the hospiral takes most of the day, and in the heat which I hate as well. Tony was so matter of fact during his long wait for results, wheras I was the one worrying, and every step of the way it was worse and worse news. I know that doesnt mean it will be like that for me, its more than likely nithing to worry about and taking it out is precautionary but your mind plays trickes doesnt it?

  • Oh yes, too much time alone sends you to some dark places. I think it's pretty normal to laser moles nowadays, I know several people who have had this done with no after effects. I think it's more precautionary than anything. But totally understandable you are worried. Our past experiences are bound to affect how we see things. x

  • Aww Sorry to hear you're not great Malengwa. Hope everything goes ok at the hospital. I think with things related to cancer we are all so aware of it now and the least little thing makes us overthink everything. Hopefully the mole will nothing sinister and everything will be ok. With me it's scans now. Because Jay went through so many and because of what they found worries me a lot more now when they tell me I need to go for a CT. I have very small cysts on my kidneys because of a genetic disorder I have so they get monitored every two years. Last time they sent me for a CT instead of an ultrasound which is what I usually get and scared the sh*t out of me because I kept wondering why they wanted me to go for CT instead of and ultrasound but as it turned out everything was fine and there were no changes. It's just something now that I will always be aware of. Take Care and try not to worry too much easier said than done though we're all here for you.

  • Hello Malegwa, I was going to check on you yesterday ,but didn't get around to it having the Joiner here do repairs. So I had intended to catch up with you today. I thought you must be feeling off it as  not seen anything from you on here and I had expected you to try arrange another zoom meet . I understand how finding the mole and having it taken out quickly had you worried. But that doesn't mean it's serious. I had a little scan on the side of my eye on the bridge if my nose many years back which was found to be cancerous and they dug it out within 2. weeks . I've had no trouble since. I try to remember to use sunscreen every day on my face. My Mum has had a lot of skin cancer removed from her face . And has to go again for the 3rd  time soon. Just got the results of 3 biopsies. She would spend a lot of time in the garden and had quite a lot of holidays abroad so that's probably the cause. They are most likely just wanting to get the mole removed before it does cause problems. Sounds like you caught it early. Yes,we've had some very hot days. The heat has affected my Border Collie ,I've tried to keep her cool. Being mainly black the Sun does affect her. Well it is certainly a lot cooler today. Looked like the sun was about to make an appearance a few minutes ago ,but now gone behind the clouds. That sounds nasty with your eye problem. I hope that is getting sorted out quickly. The weather is going off the boil now this coming week,so hopefully you will be more comfortable . There seems to be a few more New members coming on here lately. I'm trying hard  not to be too downbeat. I wish I could be more positive. I hope you are starting to feel much better very soon. Take care of yourself ..We have to as nobody else will.  Cx

  • Evening Malengwa,

I haven't been on for a few days. So sorry to hear of your trouble's and I hope everything goes well for you.

It's coming up to my late Partner Roger's birthday on Friday, so I'm just reliving last year and what we were going to do, where we planned to go on holiday when he got his state pension etc. It's still so surreal and so sad and this week will be hard for me and our Son.

I am glad the hospital are looking after you and yes I think it is just a precaution like everyone has said. Do make sure that you follow up with them. Like SpiritintheSky, these are the times that you want to talk to your other half and they're not here , but our little community is, so do reach out.

I look forward to us having our virtual chat soon ( I will need help with this as technically challenged) but in the meantime I'll send a virtual hug to you. x
