I feel so silly but you guys are the only ones awake!
I just went outside on my midnight ritual of looking at the stars and saying Goodnight Universe
And a small frog jumped in and is now under my sofa in our conservatory!
The conservatory is open (as in no other doors to close) to the dining room and kitchen before the next door.
Other than leave the conservatory door open all night and hope it leaves - and nothing else gets in - any advice?
Sorted.
I played some frog sounds, put a bright light outside next to some water.
It poked its head out. Hopped closer to the door and as I got ready to gently put the towel over it it jumped right out the door.
I’m quietly pleased that I don’t break out into major panic, only a flap.
Valen would have known what to do straight away.
But the praradox is that if he had been here to deal with it, it wouldn’t have happened in the first place as I wouldn’t have gone outside at midnight.
Frog sounds are quite rhythmic and relaxing.
Glad you got the frog sorted …that made me smile sorry! My husband many years ago saw a bath in our neighbours skip he wanted it (I was so embarrassed he went and asked for it) we dug down deep and created a wildlife bath which was perfect and the frogs found their way. He used to love that pond.
I popped out shopping early got a little bit of food in easy stuff and milk as I couldn’t be bothered to go out yesterday then returned to find my neighbour downstairs has three workmen in her garage I have a feeling a conversion is going on but it would have been nice to have been notified. Mess all in the shared driveway bins all over the place radio blaring I went up and asked them to try to keep the noise down and keep the mess to a minimum, and what time can I expect them to finish today. They just look like dodgy builders who don’t give a monkeys and probably hate me but I would have appreciated being told of what’s happening so I will find my sleep earplugs and try to drown out the noise. And when my neighbour returns will have a word with her ….if only my husband was here he would have dealt with this.
So much for me getting out in the garden today whilst they are there that’s not going to happen.
Oh no! poor you! That's all you need. Do you live in a conversion where it's like one building but it's flats? That's what I'm in too but here they call them 4-in-a-block sounds the same idea. It's like that here too and everything is `shared`. I have my own little piece of back garden though the driveway is technically mine but shared because my neighbours downstairs obviously need to use it to get into their house and there has to be a 3 foot access point round the building for repairs etc. The downstairs have the front and back garden but I have a neighbour on the other side who seems to think she owns the lot driveway included but I remember Jay putting her right about that when he showed her the title deeds of our house and what is marked out who owns what and what's communal. Most here are just a law unto themselves and don't bother with planning permission etc and just go ahead with major extensions etc. This is when I miss Jay for things like that he would be right in there telling them what's what and I feel so vulnerable now that I can be taken a loan of in things like this now. My immediate neighbours are generally ok but I just keep to myself most of the time. Wasn't me with the frog btw it was MrsVT but that's ok we all make mistakes. Take Care.
