What do you call THAT day

Next month will be two years since my husband died (but it only feels like yesterday!) I love it when people remember and send me nice messages and phone calls, but I HATE hearing the day referred to as his anniversary! To me an anniversary is something to celebrate, but that's the last day of the year I want to celebrate!! How do other people refer to the day.

  • Hi I got my memory bear from a company called Memory Bears I think. The bear is lovely, but it took five months to come! If you wanted one it might be better to just Google it and see what you find. Its made of 2 of his tee shirts and a pair of his shorts....he lived in shorts from the first time the sun came out every spring! I also had a memory cushion made with his ties which I love. Its got the tie he wore to our wedding and others that mean a lot. That was from a different company, I think from Etsy online. I like to idea of your comforter. Your patchwork idea sounds great.

  • I think I’ll go with covering the back of the comforter with patches of his t.shirts.
Also his last work-shirt - he gave the rest to charity when we knew he would no longer be working.
And his “posh” shirt for weddings etc.

But I may have to draw the line at his Spurs top!

  • You could make his Spurs top into a cushion.

  • I’ve taken one of his neck coverings that he wore to protect his neck from the sun after radiotherapy burn (and to hide the horrendous swelling in his last few weeks) and turning it into a paintbrush and pencils pouch.
It has a vague honeycomb pattern so I will sew on some fabric bees and sunflowers both of which he loved and feature heavily in all his tributes.

That way he will be helping me, and be a real presence, when I do my craft classes!

I am a truely terrible sewer, but I think he would like that I am doing this.
    And find it amusing.

As for the Spurs top. Well it’s a pretty shade of blue so I will use it on the comforter.
