Day 6 on my own and today I went to a jewellers with my husband’s best friend’s wife and spoke to them about combining our wedding bands into a new ring which will symbolise this change in our marriage. It is my birthday in just over a week and he always liked to spoil me with jewellery that I would never have spent the money on, so I know that he would be so happy with this idea. It was both happy and heartbreaking at the same time. Apparently this is a fairly common request, and they dealt with my sporadic tears with kindness and sympathy, whilst reassuring me that they would make sure the ring was exactly what I want. I’ve not had to part with them yet though. That will hurt x
