My dad passed away in November, aged 83 after a 4 month battle with mesothelioma. I threw everything in to supporting him, staying with them, finding treatments and was with him at the end. My sister and I organised his funeral and gave him a brilliant send off. Our mum has Alzheimer’s so we moved her in to a home.
Christmas has been tough, I’ve had flu and been hit by crippling grief. I can’t stop crying, I miss him so much, I long to hear his voice, have a hug. He was my rock and I don’t know how I will face the world without him.
We’ve got so much to do. Sort out and sell the family house, run his business. I don’t want to let him down by not doing it properly.
I want to look at some support groups or counselling to give me some support and strength. I don’t feel like I can keep leaning on friends and family. I’m retreating from everyone when I know I should just get out there and get on with it as my dad would want.
Any help or recommendations would be gratefully received.
