Hi,
My mum had cervical cancer which had spread to her bowels, among other illnesses. She passed away in her apartment unexpectedly having refused to go into hospital and not telling anyone how bad it really was. The flat is in a state with blood and faeces in some areas, mainly the bathroom.
We have been told to find a specialist cleaning company because it is a biohazard. Is this something anyone else has dealt with? We have called around to several places but nobody seems to know how we go about sorting this out. It is a rented flat in an assisted living building but they don't seem much help either.
It is bad enough having to deal with a loss like that let alone sorting out such a situation. I wondered if anyone here would be able to point us in the right direction.
Thank you for your support.
Hi The Masked Singer and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear about the loss of your mum and the situation you find yourself in. No practical experience of this myself, but could I suggest you call the Macmillan helpline on 0808 808 0000 (8-8pm). It is a free and friendly service and they have experts on hand who may be able to help. Best wishes.
