My daughter was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer last spring; she sadly passed away just over 2 weeks ago at the age of 27 after much suffering.
With this Coronavirus it has been an absolute nightmare trying to organise a funeral single handed and it has been (and still is) a very stressful time I am finding it difficult to cope as I suffer with long term depression.
Life is is so cruel!
Sending love and condolences. I’m so sorry for your loss.
It’s so incredibly hard. Especially when you can’t see friends or family that would give you a special hug.
I lost my mum two weeks ago also to bowl cancer. I’m heartbroken.
Please know that you are not alone. Sending you all my love.
Thank you rozza456 for your kind message. I would also like to offer my condolences to you on your sad loss.
Hello Kathy17
i really feel your pain it truly is a nightmare and has been a nightmare for you, I’m so so sorry.
I lost my darling daughter (33) 4 weeks ago to a rare form of cancer which was diagnosed in January, they tried their very best but could not help her and she passed away on 17th May. I too am totally lost without her, so many feelings I can’t process which change hour by hour. I’m hoping there’s help out there for people like us and when find it I’d be sure and let you know. No one should have to suffer the agonising pain of losing a child of any age, it’s cruel and it’s not fair!!
My very best wishes to
MySunflower
Hello MySunflower,
Thank you for your lovely message.
I am very sorry to hear the loss of your daughter, my sincere condolences.
It has been nearly 13 weeks since I lost my daughter and the pain is still as great as it was the day I lost her I have more bad days than good and this Coronavirus pandemic hasn’t helped matters with not being able to have physical and emotional support from family/friends
They say that time is a healer but I don’t think I will ever get over losing my daughter, she was my only child.
All I can say, is take each day as it comes and accept any support from family/friends.
Kind regards,
Kathy17
Hello Kathy17 and MySunflower. I'm so sorry to read of your losses. I too lost my daughter (39) in May after a 14 month battle with bowel cancer, that she fought to the very end. I sometimes think I'm coping fairly ok but then other times think I haven't even begun to cope. Do you find the same?
I had some counselling sessions (by phone and Facetime) which I found helpful. Have you tried counselling? I know it can't take away the pain but some of the advice helps to navigate through this terrible time.
Warm wishes

Thank you Thea3 - I appreciate your reply a lot and recognise I do need some counselling big time. I’ve no idea who to go to but I thought maybe I’d try CRUSE to see if they can help me. Who did you go to?
Many thanks for your email

Hi MySunflower,
I used two different organisations. One was a local charity, Beechwood Cancer Care, based in Stockport. The Macmillan nurses referred me to them. The other was a counsellor from a private psychotherapy practice which I paid for. Both were useful in their own ways and so very supportive.
Maybe give CRUSE a try and see how it goes. I do hope you find someone to help. I agree with you that this whole situation is so unfair. It feels cruelly random. There's just no logic to it at all.
Take care

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
My daughter too, died last September from melanoma.
I can't tell you that it's much better yet. Some good days but many not so good. I imagine that eventually the better days outweigh the bad days but who knows when that'll be?
I'm so sorry for your loss. Much love.
Thank you for your lovely message.
I have many bad days than good days; the pain of losing my daughter hasn’t eased, I don’t think it ever will as she was my only child Tc x
Hi Thea3
Thank you for your lovely message.
I have many bad than good days, I don’t think that the pain of losing my daughter will ever ease, she was my only child
I saw a counsellor a few times before my daughter passed away but haven’t been able to since the Coronavirus outbreak. I have hearing problems and I struggle with the telephone and FaceTime, so this wouldn’t be suitable to me.
Since losing my daughter, I have lost a cousin and uncle to cancer, so I’m finding life an uphill struggle
Once again, thank you for your message, tc x
