PICO dressing help

My PICO dressing is constantly buzzing!!! Every few seconds! It’s getting very annoying and I’ve had to turn it off a couple of times. Only the green light is flashing, no orange lights, the dressings itself feels tight and hard so I know it’s vacuumed, and just in case I did put extra dressings around the outside. Still nothing! I’ve tried turning it off and on again a couple of times too, but no success. Do I need to go back and replace it for a new one? Or should I just stick with it and cope with the buzzing?

    Thanks for getting in touch regarding your PICO dressing. I'm sorry that it's causing you frustration. You are doing the right thing by getting it checked.

    Here at the Macmillan Support Line, we are able to give general advice and support. We are independent from the NHS and don’t have access to medical records so can’t give personalised information.

    We would advise going back to the department that attached it and get it reviewed. It may be that your dressing is saturated, and it needs changing or there is a fault in the pump.

    They will be able to look and reassure you.
