Hi, I am going to a breast clinic in 2 days. I was given a breast exam by a nurse a few weeks ago and she thought I didn’t have anything to worry about as I have naturally lumpy breasts. She found a lump but said it was moveable. I have had pain on and off in my left breast over the last few years and always thought it was to do with my periods but I have found that it has got slightly worse over the last few months (since going on the pill). I also didn’t know there was a lump. Also have pain in armpit. I am now scared I have had breast cancer for the last few years and I have left it too late to get checked. Feel angry with myself

I’m sorry to hear that you are facing the worry and uncertainty that a referral for further assessment of a breast lump often causes.

Undergoing Cancer tests and waiting for results can lead to lots of emotions including questions about what we could have perhaps done differently. These emotions are all perfectly normal but can be difficult to process.
