not coping

Less than one minute read time.
Hi,Everyone, I am not coping at all with this whole cancer thing.I am still so scared of the whole treatment process and I've only had one chemo session.Everyone is being so supportive but I feel they are are only doing it because of my cancer.I have found I have friends I did'nt know I had till all this happened, they all want to come to my my house for a cuppa,if they were my so called friends surely they could have come before I was ill.Any suggestions for coping with the sickness side of the chemo have tried four types of tabs and they did'nt work.Am I just been a whinger or do others feel the same way.Help.

hi again bee, it is quite common to have averse reactions to treatment, i ended up in hospital for 4 days after mine, but after that, my bloods keeps being very low so i had to have injections on the, 5th 6th and 7th day to get them back up, i got lots of aches and pains the strangest was aches in the heels!, chemo is strong stuff and your body is bound to react in some way, but your over the first. good luck with the rest. liz xx

Had my second chemo yesterday 3rd june, according to my doc the swelling had nothing to do with my chemo because it was 16/17 days after. So must have been an infection of some kind. They have given a new anti-sickness drug so hopefully that will work.I have acquired a lovely new hair style ...well its very similar to what I had before.Hope everyone keeping ok,

    love Debbie.

onkey about my cancer but it's not me I'm talking about. My family+friends ask every day how I am and I just say I feel yuk!My chemo is still making me feel sick and I eat loads of garbish but hey what the heck!.Any ideas on when I will feel a little bit normal.Have got 4 more chemo sessions to go 1 lot of FEC and then 3 TAXOTER I think that's how you spell it.Has anyone else had the tax and if so were there any side effects,I know it affects people differently but was just wondering what to look out for. Also do you get any side effects from radio treatment. Here's hoping soon I can stop whinging about it.SORRY doing it again.TAke care all.

    Luv Debbie x

Hi Debbie, I didn't have the same chemo drugs as you, but I can tell you that you will probably feel tired from the radiotherapy and possibly have some burns, a bit like sunburn, but the radio is a walk in the park compared to the chemo.

I think once all the treatment is finished you will start to feel a bit more normal, whatever that is lol.

It can be a bit scary finishing treatment as you can feel a bit abandoned.  Strange, I know, but a lot of people feel like that.  You will get through this.  It's a shock to the system, but you will get there.

Look after yourself and I'll look out for your blogs to find out how you're doing.

    Best wishes, Christine xx
