not coping

Less than one minute read time.
Hi,Everyone, I am not coping at all with this whole cancer thing.I am still so scared of the whole treatment process and I've only had one chemo session.Everyone is being so supportive but I feel they are are only doing it because of my cancer.I have found I have friends I did'nt know I had till all this happened, they all want to come to my my house for a cuppa,if they were my so called friends surely they could have come before I was ill.Any suggestions for coping with the sickness side of the chemo have tried four types of tabs and they did'nt work.Am I just been a whinger or do others feel the same way.Help.

Hi, please don't think you are being a whinger, it's amazing how we cancer sufferers feel we have to apologise for being ill, but you are entitled to whinge and moan as much as you like lol.

I am more than five years past diagnosis and am doing well so it's not all doom and gloom.  It's a bloody hard slog, but you will get through this!

As for the "friend" thing, you will find that as time goes on you will make some true friends.  I know I did.

Take care of yourself and send me a PM if you want to chat or just offload.

    Luv, Christine xx

yes there are people around who become your friend when you get sick, but we usually know who the friends are, opposed to who the ones who like to tell people, poor me my friends got cancer, its sad but true, fortunately (for me anyway), these are only few, i know the difference and my family and true friend are worth they`re weight in gold. dont let these people into your life or house just tell them your busy, your going through hell and the last thing you need are bloodsuckers draining your energy.

we all cope the only way we can, i tell myself the treatment is worth it, its doing its job. good luck with yours. liz xxx

the best thing for the side sickness i found was eating little amounts, avoid eating fatty foods, make sure u chew your food well (daft i know but it helps break it down in your stomach) dont worry too much if u cant eat, just drink lots of fluids, (my onc advised me of this) try build up drinks. and maybe avoid eating ur face foods so u dont associate it with being sick and ill. i currently havent eaten for a month, and am being prescribed all sorts of weird and wonderful tube feeds but these are supplements to keep me strong. Keep ur chin up i know its hard xx
